Ugh, I swear this is one of those chapters that sounded good in my head, but once I started actually writing it... oh boy lol 😬😅 Anyways it is what it is 🤷🏾‍♀️

Jordyn's P.O.V.

"Is Marshall here?" Kim asks me, standing in the doorway, tapping her foot impatiently. Hailie right by her side, holding onto her hand and peaking from behind her leg shyly.

"No, he isn't," I reply back to Kim, then focus on Hailie.

"Hi Hai, long time no see," I smile, immediately realizing my mistake. The way Kim scowls at me, I can tell she does not like me addressing her daughter at all, but what was I supposed to do, just ignore the little girl?! I love Hailie anyway, she's a beautiful child.

"Hi, Jordyn," Hailie says shyly. Kim shoots her a look and says:

"Hailie, don't talk to strangers."

"But Jordyn not a stranger, mommy. She..."

"Hai!" Kim gives her another stern look and Hailie quiets down, fidgeting by her side shyly.

Kim then switches her attention back to me again.

"Well, it's a good thing that Marshall ain't here, because I actually came here to have a talk with you, Jordyn. Woman to woman," she says to me and then she walks past me, making her way inside of the small recording room, then she turns around to face me, her blonde hair slapping across her back.

I feel confused and annoyed and have absolutely no idea what to do in this situation.

I knew that Kim was here to LA since a few days ago. Marshall had paid for her flight to come here so he could see his daughter, being that Kim was once again in one of those rare moods where she was allowing him to see her, and whenever she gets 'generous' like this, Marshall takes full advantage of it, and I'm happy for him that he gets to spend time with Hailie.

Still, I wasn't by any means expecting for Kim to pop up here to see ME. Like, what do we even have to talk to each other about?! We haven't spoken since that one other time we've met before at the hospital when she had walked in on Marshall and I, threw a fit and stormed out.

To tell you the truth, Kim makes me nervous. There's definitely something intimidating about her, but it's not even that, it's more like the fact that she's got a whole history with my boyfriend, they've made a child together and not only that but even as I'm standing there looking at her, I recall overhearing that conversation between Marshall and his friends that time at the club, and I can't help but wonder about so many things.

And as I'm standing there thinking all that, Kim looks me up and down like she wants to fight me or something, and while I don't particularly enjoy cat fights if she swings at me then I'm ready for sure but let's hope it doesn't come to that, because Hailie is standing right there, and I really hope Kim has more class than to try and throw down right in front of a toddler.

"And what is it that you want to have a talk with me about, Kimberly?" I ask, unable to keep the slight sarcasm in my voice. All these months her and I have been pretending like the other didn't even exist but now she pop up at my job, tagging her and Marshall's child along with her probably because she had nobody to leave her with.

Kim ignores my question but instead looks me up and down again.

"I really don't understand what Marshall sees in you," she's then muttering out, playing with the strands of her long blonde hair.
