Jordyn's P.O.V.
As Marshall's car pulls over near the street where Savannah house she shares with her boyfriend Troy is located, i feel a surge of nerves and adrenaline go through me.
By the way Savannah's sounded on the phone, it seems to me like Troy had beat her up yet again, and I'm honestly so sick of this. I hope that Savannah finally has got enough of his shit and would be willing to finally kick him out for good. She's the one paying the bills up in that place anyway, Troy doesn't even work. All that guy does is hang out on the block with his boys all day, holla at random girls trying to get their number, then comes home and sits in front of the TV all day, snapping at Savannah and laying hands on her whenever he gets too drunk. And my friend deserves so much better than that, any girl does actually, but hey. For whatever reason she really loves this dude, and I can only hope that she's okay right now, because the way she sounded on the phone, she didn't even sound like herself at all.
"So, this it?" Marshall pears out of the window of his car, squinting slightly at the house, "This where your friend lives, right?"
"Yes, so thanks for giving me a ride, Marshall," I say softly, grabbing the door handle and stepping out of the car.
Only to see him get out as well.
"What are you doing?" I frown at him in confusion. "I don't like... expect you to go in there with me. Troy is crazy as hell, and this honesty isn't even your problem. I just needed a ride, that's all."
"Ya kidding me, right?" He asks me somewhat angrily for some reason. "You think I'm some kind of a pussy, girl? I ain't scared of whatever cocksucker ya friend is messing around with and I sure as fuck ain't letting you go in there alone especially if you say he's violent."
I open my mouth to try and protest again, but he cuts me off.
"Yo, we going in there or what? Cause the way you made it sound before is like your friend is in trouble. We wasting time standing here talking shit, you know what I mean?"
I don't say anything then but just stand stating up at him for a few seconds, I really don't understand why he wants to get involved at all to be honest, he barely knows me or Savannah, but I suppose he is right, I'm really not a match for Troy, like at all, and Marshall looks like he can fight, olus he's a guy, and Troy is actually the cowardly type. He would only raise a hand to somebody he knows wouldn't hit him back.
"Okay, let's go," I mutter, nervously biting my lip as we make our way to Savannah's front porch. I immediately search for her spare key knowing where she keeps it.
Even before I can unlock the door with it though, I can already hear both Savannah and Troy shouting at each other inside the house.
"This what you get you fucking dumb bitch!!" Troy's voice, sounding drunken and slurred. "I bet that would teach you to stop talking back, you always talk back, ho!!"
"Fuck you, Troy!! Does it make you feel big and bad to beat on me like this?! You ain't a man, get the fuck out!!"
"Fuck you say to me, bitch?! Come here!!"
I finally get Savannah's front door unlocked and me and Marshall barge in to the view of Savannah being chased by Troy who grabs her hair and throws her in the ground, getting on top pf her and pinning her down he punches the living daylights out of her.
"Oh, hell no!!" I shout, running towards them.
In that moment I don't think about Troy being a guy and so much bigger than me. All i want is to have my friend's back. I jump on Troy's back and scratch the hell out of the sides of his face. I have been seeing him putting his hands on Savannah for far too long, and I hate him so much.
