NOAH
"Good morning, sleepyhead", April's sweet voice wakes me up. We didn't want to be apart any longer, so we slept together last night. Hugging each other. Kissing. Whispering promises. I wake up with her next to me. It's the best way to wake up.
I don't mind doing it every day for the rest of my life.
"Good morning", I say. I sneak a glance at her and smile. She's only in an undershirt and her underwear. Her curls are falling free down her shoulders, her chocolate skin glowing in the morning sunshine.
"You're beautiful", I think, but I guess I said it out loud since she smiles.
"That's the spirit", she replies and walks out of bed. I am quicker though and grab her wrist, pulling her back to me. She chuckles and sinks back in bed, between my arms.
I start kissing every inch of her, making her chuckle even more.
"Noah, you'll make me miss my run", she protests.
I raise an eyebrow at her yet she only nods convinced.
"Alright. Fine. I give up", I say and she smirks victoriously. I am quick to say: "Care for a run mate?"
"Run mate?", she asks skeptical.
"Run partner."
"Run partner?"
"Run lover?"
I sigh exhausted. "Care for a plus-one?"
"I would have just asked care for your awesome, good-looking boyfriend to join you, but sure, let's go with run lover."
I smirk, yet freeze as I realize she said the word boyfriend.
"Boyfriend?", I ask her surprised.
"I was just thinking. We could go with run-"
I interrupt her with a kiss. "Boyfriend is fine."
She smiles and wraps her hands around my neck, pulling me closer.
I have to tease her. "How was that with you being late for your run?"
She rolls her eyes amused and calls me prick, her lips still on mine. It makes me smirk.
She crawls out of bed and goes change. I also go get ready in my room. We meet again after ten minutes in front of the house.
We run her usual route. I've been running with her before, so I know it. Only today, we stop at her favorite café. She showed it to me before, but we never entered there together. Today is a first.
I understand why the moment she opens the door.
"Linda", the woman at the counter screams. She's probably in her forties, dark hair and tanned skin. She smiles bright at April and comes hug her. As the two let go, she takes me in and smirks. "I see you brought someone with you. Another best friend?"
I raise an eyebrow at that and plan on asking her later about it. April smirks and says: "No. Just Adam was the best friend." I have to smirk. My girl know me so well, she answers my questions without me even asking them. "This is Noah", she continues. "My run lover."
I roll my eyes at her and she smirks amused. The woman looks at us partly dreamy, partly confused.
"Run lover?", the woman asks.
"It means boyfriend", April explains and sends me an air kiss. I pull her closer and giver her a real kiss on the lips. April squeals and kisses me once more.
The woman cheers from somewhere far away.
"I've been waiting for this day for so long", she says and interrupts our smooch fest. I rest my hand on April's waist, if only to continue feeling her. The woman comes and gives me a hug.
"I'm Carmen", she says as she lets go. "But you can call me auntie."
"Auntie?", I ask surprised. April only smiles. The woman nods.
"Yes. I'm your auntie in Spain from now on. I've taught April everything she knows. Have you noticed how she sometimes bites her lip when she flirts, to catch one's attention? That was my work", Carmen says proud. I let out a laugh. April might explode any moment now from how red she is.
"Really, precious? I had no idea. I just thought you were a flirting mastermind", I tease my girlfriend. Damn, it feels so good to say it.
"She is", Carmen counters. "She was a natural all along. I only did some polishing. Everything else is on her."
"I'm a lucky guy then", I whisper, looking at April. She chuckles and kisses me.
"Now you realized", she counters amused.
Carmen looks at us dreamy and tells us to wait a bit. She disappears behind the counter, and goes inside the kitchen, telling the other costumer to wait a bit. As she comes back, she comes with a bag filled with something. She hands them to April and smiles.
"Your favorite. With a bit of extra love this time", the woman says winking.
"Carmen", April laughs. I join her.
One costumer says something in Spanish to Carmen, which makes her excuse herself and say goodbye to us.
"It was great to see you again, linda. Glad you finally took my advice. And what a good job you did. He's a cupcake. Well, not even a cupcake. A full-on cake. With the cherry on top."
"Carmen", April lets out again, her cheeks red. I kiss one of them and then smile at Carmen, who now looks at me.
"It was a pleasure to meet you, Noah. Take care of my baby girl. She's a treasure." She quickly turns to April. "You are, linda."
Someone calls for Carmen again and she mumbles something in Spanish. After kissing us on the cheeks, April and I leave her to it and walk outside.
"She seems nice", I reply.
"She is", April answers, still blushing. I decide it's time to make her relax a bit. Through teasing her.
"Glad you got to introduce your cupcake to her?"
"My cupcake?", April asks, eyebrow raised, but that's amusement hidden in those eyes.
"What was it again? Your cake. With the cherry on top", I continue.
She smiles now. "Can't forget the cherry on top."
"What do you think that is?", I ask her, begging for compliments. She must have figured it out since she answers in a sarcastic tone.
"How humble you are. Or how selfless."
"Come here, precious", I reply smirking and carry her on my shoulder. She laughs the whole time.
I think she might be the cherry on top.
