the next morning, me and alex are up at five o'clock to to get ready to get on the tour bus and go to our next tour stop, which is in boston. alex was hardly awake as they went through the motions.

every time i looked at alex and saw their hair, which was now matching mine, i couldn't help but smile. they caught me staring and smiling at them one time, and they gave a sleepy, half-hearted smile in response.

to be fair... we were up pretty late last night.

eventually, laura texted and let us know that the tour bus was outside my apartment complex, so we made our way to it. once we got on, i saw that jessie was sitting on the couch on the bottom level, ready to greet us.

instead, alex sleepily mumbled something and went upstairs to, i assume, go back to sleep. i watched with a small smile played on my lips. i then turned to look at jessie, only to see them staring at the staircase with a dropped jaw.

"what?" my brows knitted together.

"their hair," she turned to me with wide eyes. "you have matching hair."

i made an "o" shape with my mouth. "oh, yeah. we did it yesterday."

"i'm fucking shocked. i never thought that i'd see alex have matching hair with— well, anyone," she mumbled, very clearly surprised about the situation.

"i'm shocked too," i murmured as i sat down beside jj.

"what are you doing to them, pookie?" jess asked teasingly. "the alex i know would never do that! you're making them so... soft. it's honestly weird to see them like this."

"you think so?" i asked softly, in regards to "making alex soft." i wrapped my arms around jessie's arm as i cuddled into their side. "i think that they just are soft; that they only put up a front of being an ass or whatever. i'd say that i'm just helping them be more comfortable in expressing this side of their self."

they seemed to think it over for a few moments. "yeah, i think you're right. in all honesty though, they've only ever let their guard down around me a handful or two of times. they're not one to let people in easily."

"really?" i asked, in regards to alex not opening up a lot to jess. i found it surprising since alex has told me plenty of times how jj is their best friend.

and also considering the fact that i now know they used to be friends with benefits.

"yeah," she let out a small chuckle. "seriously, you're really good for them. i'm so happy you found each other."

i pouted, and i cuddled closer to her. "yeah, me too," i murmured.

soon enough, the bus stopped again. not long after it did, miguel stepped onto the bus.

"miggy!" my eyes lit up.

"hi, good morning," he greeted me and jess with a tired smile.

i held my arms out. "cuddle with us!" i requested. by now, me and jessie were laying down on the pullout couch.

"what, you don't wanna cuddle with your boyfriend instead?" miguel teased.

"alex will be fine. i'm sure they're passed the fuck out upstairs," i waved him off.

"well, let me put my stuff away, and i'll see," he chuckled before he walked upstairs.

only a minute later, he walked back downstairs. "they're slumped. they're sleeping like a damn baby."
