the next morning, i'm waking up for the second time to alex placing soft, innocent kisses to the back of my neck. i smiled, and i reached down to hold their hand, which was draped around my waist.

"good morning," they murmured. i could feel them smile against my neck.

"good morning," i echoed softly. i turned in their arms to bury my face into their chest. "what time is it now?"

they paused for a moment, probably looking at the alarm clock on the nightstand. "eleven a.m."

i yawned. "already?"

they hummed. after a while, i moved my head from their chest to look at them. "how are you feeling?"

"fine; just sleepy," they let out a soft breath.

"i still can't believe you woke me up for more," i teased as i cupped their face.

i watched as their face flushed brightly. "shut up; you'd do the same, if you were me!" they huffed, their cheeks still red.

i giggled, and i leaned forward to press a quick kiss to their lips, which seemed to calm them. they placed their hand, which was still draped over my waist, on my lower back and pulled me closer.

"you know..." they started softly as they met my eyes. "i have a crush on you."

"oh, yeah?" i raised a brow as i tried to fight back a grin.

"oh, yeah," they nodded. "a huge crush."

"funnily enough, i have a huge crush on you too."

they were the first to let their grin break through. "well, that works out perfectly then," they said before they started to pepper my face with kisses. i giggled as they did.

"god, i love you," i couldn't help but to tell them.

"you love me? at least take me out to dinner first," they teased. "you only just told me you had a crush on me."

"shut up!" i kissed my teeth.

they laughed again, a genuine smile on their face. "you know i love you," they murmured. "right?"

i nodded. "i know, baby."

with that, they pressed a kiss to my forehead and pulled me closer. they let out a content sigh. "i don't ever want to get up. i just wanna stay right here, with you," they mumbled as they rest their chin on the top of my head.

as they spoke, axel walked into my room. he got onto the bed, and he nestled himself on alex's pillow. i smiled as alex lifted a ran to run it through axel's fur for a moment.

"i hate to break it to you, lovey, but i'm gonna have to get up soon," i murmured. "i have things to do."

"like what?" they grumbled.

"well, i'm gonna get coffee with arlo and talk with him, then i want to go get a new guitar strap and some picks, and then i need to go grocery shopping; i don't think i even have anything here to make breakfast," i told them.

they let out a small huff. "i guess i'll let you go," they said teasingly as they rolled onto their back. as they started to stretch, axel moved to curl up on alex's chest.

i playfully rolled my eyes. i leaned over to kiss their cheek before i sat up and started to stretch as well; the blanket fell from around me as i did so. i rubbed at my eyes.

"darling, please cover back up, or you might be late to meet up with arlo," alex mumbled, their face flushed brightly now.

i glanced down, and i was quickly reminded of the fact that after alex woke me up earlier this morning, we didn't bother putting our clothes back on afterwards. my own face flushed ever so slightly as i mumbled a small "whoops."
