Third POV
"How does your drive work?" Spock asks on their way to the transporter.
"Well, you point it towards any device and it collects the most recently stored data. I can't necessarily pick up something specific to find but it can see past data for about a week. We might end up getting even more information than just a picture which would be great." Nova smiles to herself. Spock observes her closely.
"Tell me about how you built it." Novas ears perk up at Spock's words. She looks at him with a smile, one that was being restrained. Her excitement was great considering that not many people asked her that question. Only her dad or Venar.
"Long or short version?" Nova would hate to take advantage because she knows she'd go on forever.
"Long." Spock says with a smile in his eyes.
"Ok! Well I started off with one of those older drives because I love collecting old tech from the 2000s. I noticed how technologically was slowly moving towards Bluetooth and I had a great idea to bridge the gap someway with drives instead of them dying out...." Nova goes on and on. Spock listens to every word while observing her face. The joyous look was intoxicating. Overwhelming him. Spock notices the small dimples on her chin, the light scare on her check, small freckles that sat below her eye, and the way she smiled when she spoke.
"So it's essentially a mini computer." Spock comments.
"Simply put yes but mostly for extraction and storage. But I also put a transportable virus in too which gives me limited access to the device but only if I'm in range and within a very specific time frame to remain undetectable..." Nova says with a proud smile, almost impressed with herself. She goes on talking while Spock engraves her face in his mind. They make it to the transporter room. Kirk awaits them with a smirk.
"Took you guys long enough." Kirk mutters observing the two. He opens his mouth to say something but instead thinks it in his head. They look good together. He smiles to himself. "Okay you two, Sulu will alert us when he spots the other star ship, when that happens ensign Coll will beam you to that star ship once a single has been emitted from the other ship which Uhura will notify us of. Everyone clear?" Kirk looks around the transporter chamber.
"Yes Captain." Coll says while Spock and Nova simply nod.
"I will be here for emotional support." Kirk says with a smirk.
"Which we truly appreciate Captain." Nova says sarcastically. Kirk scoffs under his breath "WhIcH wE TruLy ApPrEaTe CaPTAiN." Before they both start to giggle at there silliness. Spock is amused by Novas attitude, a host of a smile sat on his face.
"Captain, star ship arriving." Sulus voice rang from the comms.
"In positions everyone." Kirk says. Nova scoffs "iN PoSitIons EvErYOnE." Kirk rolls his eyes at her while she makes her way to the transporter pad. Spock follows behind.
"You ready Commander?" Nova asks with a smile. She places a hand on her hip, subconsciously grabbing at where her sword would be but knowing it's not.
"I am well prepared for the mission yes." Spock nods to her.
"Singles hot Captain." Uhura says through the comms.
"No flirting on the job Lieutenant, ensign Coll proceed." Kirk could feel Uhura rolling her eyes at him. Coll presses the necessary buttons, Nova and Spock beam aboard the other star ship along with the package.
"Who are these to?" Someone whispers to there Captain. Nova coughs speaking up.
"We are here to make sure the pack was well received. We won't be long." She says confidently. They both move away from the package as security crew began attempting to pick it up. Spock and Nova give each other a knowing look, they could feel something alive in that box. It was more like a crate tho it had no holes. It was a tall 7ft box and it's width was at least 3ft.
