Third POV

Bones is in his office. He had evident bags under his eyes doing paperwork. It's been about a week now, Nova is still in the coma. Bones has been watching her like a hawk. A silent alarm went off on his PADD, he rushes to the ICU. He puts in his code and make sure the door shuts behind as screams could be heard.

It was Nova, kicking and screaming. Her hands would shot towards her back as she cries. In these moments Bones turns off the alarm and holds down his friend until She calms down. He could see the tears drop down Novas face, it hurt him deeply. Bones couldn't save Nova from whatever she was going through. He couldn't even sedate her because he knows Nova needs to wake up.

He had no explanation for this. The only thing he knew is that she would often reach towards those marks on her back. The marks Bones was sure were healed whipping marks.

"I can't do this forever Nova." Bones whispers as Nova calms down. This is why he won't let anyone else take charge of her care. He doesn't want anyone else to see his friend this way.

Bones was getting frustrated as he went into his office. As Bones sits down he grabs his PADD, sending a message to Tiva. A few minutes later Tiva knocks on Bones door.

"Come in." Bones says running a hand through his hair. Tiva walks in. She was torn between being professional or making sure her Leo was ok.

"Sit." Bones says rubbing his face. Tiva almost cringes seeing the bags under his eyes.

"What's wrong darlin?" Tiva says softly.

"Tiva, Nova has night terrors." Bones says. If he knew one thing, he knew Tiva knew Nova well. Way more then he did. He observed her face, it twitches. She was uncomfortable. "Tiva you know something I don't. I need you to tell me."

"If Nova didn't tell you she don't want ya to know." Tiva says turning her head.

"Look at me Tiva... please, so I can know how to help her." Tiva looks at Bones. Tears sat in her eyes. Tiva still stayed silent. "Please baby, I'm trying to help our friend. I can't stand seeing her in so much pain."

"She told me they were getting better." Tiva whispers. Tears start to fall out of her eyes. Bones come around, he kneels in front of Tiva. He whips her eyes gently.

"It's ok Tiva, you can tell me. You know what you say is safe with me, it'll keep off the files and not another soul will know about it." Bones whispers. Tiva sniffles before sighing.

"I remember, one day the power in my room was cut off. On our old ship that is. I had asked her if I could sleep over. She was nervous about it. I didn't know why at the time, I told her it would only be fore one night and of course she didn't have to if she didn't want to. She agreed to let me. I was over there, when it was time for bed. I had fallen asleep, little did I know Nova was fighting to keep awake the entire night. When she accidentally fell asleep. I had woken to her screaming and crying. I shook her awake. She hugged me so tight I could barely breath. She had told me not to tell anyone and to not bring it up to her ever. But a few weeks back, during shore leave she said she had the best sleep of her life, that she didn't have any of them nightmares. I think it was cause of Spock. I thought that meant they had went away but I guess I was wrong. I feel like such a horrible friend, I wish I would've forced her to get help but I didn't." Tiva cries. Bones hugs her tightly.

"No no, you're a wonderful friend. You wanted to respect her wishes is all. It's ok baby girl." Bones squeezes Tiva tightly. He rubs her back, trying to soothe her. She hugs him back tightly.

"I love you." Tiva whispers. This had surprised Bones. He pulls away, whipping another tear from her face.

"I love you." Bones whispers back. Tiva held his face and plants a gentle kiss on his cheek. They look in each other's eyes, before the silent alarm goes off again. Bones shoots up looking at it. "It's Nova again." Tiva gets up to, them both going to the ICU.
