Spock's POV

After a 5 year mission we made it safely back to earth. The star ship is being commissioned for another 5 years because of our success. I am on my way to a meeting with the federation council. I walk with Captain now.

"Spock can you believe this!?" Kirk goes on about our success. A slight smile appears on my face, but of course not enough to notice.

"I do believe our mission was successful. It is only logical for us to be recommissioned." I say simply. I continue my walk with Kirk; him going on about our many adventures. I would of course then talk about the many discoveries we've made. We arrived, thanks to me, on time.

"Spock! Good to see ya lad!!" Scotty approach's me with a smile.

"Montgomery Scott.." I nod my head towards him, which for me was an enthusiastic greeting.

"Well look at that, the green-blooded hobgoblin.." no introduction needed.

"Dr. McCoy.." I nodded to him as well, silently disapproving at his choice of greeting.

We took our seats and the council took theirs.

"Shall we get started?" One said with a smile. With that the meeting began, everyone giving reports from their departments. I was up next and began to present all data that was gathered in 5 years. I was interrupted by someone walking in the door, which was odd because everyone was already called for.

"Excuse you miss??" One of the council members say.

"No, excuse you. There seems to be a problem, it's very urgent it can't wait." She was definitely not from this world. The tip of her slanted ears were a dark purple. She was visibly upset. She wore high rank clothing, a Captain.

"It'll have to wait. We are in a meeting.."  another council member says.

"And I just said it couldn't. You will listen and you will listen well. Why is the USS Haven being decommissioned?" Her gloved hands were clenched.

"I believe your Captain is stepping down to be in Vulcan correct?" My ears perked up. A Vulcan Captain?? I've only heard rumors.

"Yes Captain Venar has stepped down. That was a year ago. So I took over as Captain. Tell me why we are being decommissioned? My crew wants to know why they're being reassigned to random ships. I owe them that much." She sits on the table looking at them expectingly.

"I'm sorry but we couldn't afford your ships upkeep.." another person states. The upset Captain rolls her eyes.

"Did you not believe in our mission? To aid other star ships in need? My crew and I have risked our lives, saving  others. Is this how you treat us, do you really think that's worth nothing?! You'll fund discovery ships but not ours? There must be another reason because that simply isn't good enough.." I take the time to consider what she is saying. She was right. Also no other ships have gotten any recent upgrades or design changes. No ships have gotten destroyed. Where would the money be going?

"Our priorities have shifted yes." A sigh erupts from another council member.

"Have you looked at our stats? We have prevented countless casualties and aided over ten ships. Including yours Captain Kirk. I am sorry to have disturbed your meeting but as you know crew becomes like family. Mine is being violently ripped apart-" she was interrupted.

"That's enough!" The commander in chief speaks. She looks at him with stern eyes walking up to him.

"You, we never trusted you.." a smug look appears on the chiefs face when she says this.

"Captain Wild, if you wish to stay in star fleet. You will leave this be. We have told our honest answer. We could not afford the upkeep." He says in a condescending tone..

"Well then I resign, I cannot work for people who lie so flagrantly to the people who risk there lives for this cause." She begins to walk away.

"Captain! If we could just find a solution here, many people resigned from my ship, we need more people. I would love to work with the famous Captain Wild. My crew were forever grateful for you when you saved us from an erupting planet. We'll welcome you with open arms." The chief snarls at Captain Kirk when he says this.

"There's really no need-" The chief gets interrupted by Captain Wild.

"Can you squeeze in 180?" Captain Wild says with a slight smile.

"Why so small?" Kirk says puzzled.

"Many of my people resined after finding out we were being decommissioned. The rest said they would follow my lead." Kirk looks at me, of course for guidance.

"Our ship can fit, 430 people and we now have 250 crew members after going over all resignations. Captain Wilds remaining crew would be the exact number of new crew members we need. Of course we would have to see if we have the necessary available positions and cannot promise the maintaining of rank but it would be easier to have a seasoned crew to better aid our mission." I say talking to Kirk and the Council. Kirk smiles, the council grumble amongst each other.

"Fine. We will allow this." The commander in chief says.

"Captain Kirk you have my outmost respect for this generous offer." She bows deeply, most likely a custom from her people.

"We are simply returning the favor." Kirk smiles at her. I look towards Captain Wild and she gives me the Vulcan Salute. A smile sprung on her face. I was slightly surprised but I do the same back. She walks out and the room is left in silence.

"We apologize for that Commander Spock, you may continue.." one member says with a sigh.

"There is no need to apologize, Captain Wilds concerns were logical and I would've expressed the same." I say before continuing, although my mind was no longer there. Captain Wild has given me lots to think about. I become curious of not only her but of this peculiar situation. After the meeting was over, Kirk, Scotty, McCoy, and I walk out together discussing today's events.

"I like the lass! Stick it to the man!" Scotty says with enthusiasm.

"Yes she's a feisty gale, she'll make our next 5 years interesting." Bones smirks.

"And did you see her? I could never forget that face." Kirk swoons. They all then look at me.

"I am quite intrigued by her. She will be a good addition to our crew." I say plainly. Kirk nudges Bones and gives Scotty a look. I am perplexed by the motion. "Is there something I'm forgetting?" I say to them.

"No no Spock, we just find your choice of words interesting is all. The last time I was intrigued with a dime I ended up married.." Bones slaps my shoulder. "Welp I'm gonna go find a bar, who's coming?" I was slightly confused to say the least. Kirk and Scotty mutter words of agreement and I simply went along; I figured I wouldn't have much of a choice.
