A/N slight angst

Kirks POV

Only a couple of hours now until left off. I smile to myself as I check my PADD, everyone is boarded and accounted for. Now we're just waiting for the rest of supplies and luggage. I make my way out of my quarters to the bridge. I have an important announcement to make. I walk with a pip in my step as I greet passing crew. I then spot Spock (try saying that 10* faster) and Nova walking together up ahead. They look good together. As I stare at them I think about how Spock might have a crush on her. But he might not even realize it. Time to go press some buttons!

"Nova! Spock!" They both turn around to me.

"Captain Kirk!" She wraps her arms around me, lifting me from the ground. "I can not thank you enough, you have my outmost gratitude!!" Nova squeezes me before putting me down. I laugh.

"You are most certainly welcome, it is honestly my pleasure to have the great Captain Wild serve at our ship.." I put out my arm and she again shook me by the forearm.

"Then we are both honored!" She smiles at me. Spock coughs and looks to me.

"Are you on your way to the bridge?" Spock asks plainly.

"Yes, I have an important announcement to make." I smile as I continue to walk.

"Oo do tell." Nova pats my back. Spock's eyes stares at the contact.

"We're having a left off party, formal wear, music, it's gonna be great! Get everyone to mingle a bit ya know?" I explain to Nova.

"Yes, that'll be great! I'll be sure to wear the attire of my people." My ears perk up. I get an idea.

"I can't wait to see it, Captain Wild." I smile again at her. We hop on the lift going up to the bridge. I go up to the Captains chair and sit. I press the broadcast button. "Ladies and gentlefolk this is your Captain speaking, we will be having a left off party at 21:00, cultural wear this time! Bones I better see you in that cowboy hat, left off will be 18:00. And again welcome to the USS Enterprise!" I smile at Nova as she looks at me with shocked eyes.

"This will be fun!" She says with a giddy look.

"You gave me that bright idea." I wink at her.

"As I was saying Miss Wild, this will be your post as head of security.." Spock says pointing next to his spot.

"Hopefully you guys will never need me up here." She mutters looking at her station.

"Well I'll probably bring you up here just to look at ya." I say leaning into my Captains chair.

"And I shall gladly be of service, but remember Captain you can look but no touch." Nova winks at me, I smirk as she plays along with my playboy antics. I watch as Spock's hand twitches.

"Captain need I remind you of the many duties you must finish before left off? I would suggest you intend to more urgent matters supposed to-"

"Supposed to what? Just a little playful banter is all." Buttons have been pressed. I make my way off the bridge trying to think of a good ship name. Snova?? Spova? Time to go find Bones

Spock's POV

In the middle of the tour Nova and I get interrupted by Kirk. Nova reacts to him differently than me. She hugs him tightly. I stare at there interaction. Kirk showers Nova with praise and compliments. Why does she touch him and not me? Kirk is unfortunately going the same way we were going. Once we make it Nova takes a look around while Kirk makes his announcements. Her face lights up when he says something about cultural wear. Kirk winks at her. I intervened, trying to continue the tour despite Kirk but again he interrupts. I will be sure to have a talk with him later about flirting inappropriately. Nova winks back at him and I knew I had to put an end to it somehow. Kirk excuses himself before leaving.
