Third POV

Warning: mentions of war, blood, gore, and angst. Also some negative thoughts. Please skip if you need to.

Nova polishes her sword in her quarters. A warrior is not supposed to be scared but that is exactly what she felt. She was in a trance, just like when she slayed that beast from the class M planet.

Nova is a warrior. Her friends are warriors, it's best not to get attached to them. On Novas planet, all her friends were either dead or gone away to the other side of the planet because of the Great War. She didn't tell many people about it, her memories from then still painful. The Kingdom was being overthrown. Everyone had to pick sides, and commit senseless murders to their neighbors. Some friends were even killed in front of Novas own eyes by beasts and people. In her eyes she had failed to protect them. Death surrounded her. Her whole life she didn't have much to hold on to except for herself and her parents. Everyone else had slipped through her fingertips. But even then the thought of them leaving her too hurt her so much, she decided to finally leave first. She decided to not hang on anymore. Sure Nova wanted to explore the great unknown as well. But every time she was home a grief would sit on her heart. Nova knew she had to leave. A few years after the war, that's exactly what she did.

That's why she would rather go alone. The thought of Spock dying hurts so bad. It was unbearable to think about. It made her cry. They can't get any closer right now, if she did it would destroy her. Or is Spock worth that pain?

"I just don't want to lose you Kepha." Nova whispers. She sighs as she puts away her sword, she wore a different attire from typical star fleet uniform. It was all black uniform with combat boots, she also wore a sweater. Even tho her body temperature runs warmer than humans, this planet is surprisingly cold. She walks with her weapons on her hip. Two phasers and a sword, along with other interesting combat gadgets. She leaves her quarters. Nervousness sat in her heart. They were supposed to meet where the trash was disposed of. Spock gathered all supplies so that's covered. She arrives and finds Spock there, her breath hitched. Nobody else was there yet. Spock stairs at his PADD, not bothering to look at her.

"I can expect us to continue being tactful towards each other?" Spock questions.

"Of course commander." Nova says professionally. Spock wears something similar to Nova, instead of a sweater however, it's a poncho

"You guys ready?" Kirks voice comes from a distance. Nova looks at him, she finds Bones and Uhura as well.

"I do believe so." Spock mutters, finally looking up from his PADD.

"Good. If you guys do not contact us earlier we will pick you up in three days. Where ever you land is where you will have to be beamed up at. We are sending you down at night on the planet, it is best just to set up camp for tonight. In the morning your three days begins." Kirk gives them the spill. Bones comes over hugging Nova.

"You'll be fine kid, I'll be right here when you guys come back up." Bones whispers, Nova returns the hug.

"And same goes for me!" Kirk says with a thumbs up and a smile.

"I will be monitoring your guys frequency." Uhura says with a smile. Bones pulls away. Spock nods his head at everyone and he goes in the trash pod first, this makes them realize how much limited space it would be. Spock could barley fit himself with the supplies also being packed in there.

"Tight squeeze." Bones whispers under his breath. Nova rolls her eyes approaching the pod. She stairs at it, trying to figure out the best way to go in.

"I would prefer to get this over with Chief, would you?" Spock says with slight frustration. It's not that they didn't want to be close to each other. It was the opposite. But when you think the other doesn't want to, this situation becomes a nightmare. Nova decided just to come in at Spock's comment. There legs tangle together, faces barley an inch apart, there chest just barely pressed together, Spock's hands were clenched at his sides while Nova kept her hands above his head, stopping there bodies from being completely pressed against the others.
