Novas POV

I get a message from Spock after almost a month not speaking to him. Except for technically today at medical, I hope he's alright. It reads something about a panel being broken. I make my way to the laboratory and I walk inside looking around. I find Spock in his office, I knock on his glass office wall. Spock then gets up and steps out through the door. We stair at each other. My heart beats rapidly. A warm feeling shots threw my chest. I watch as Spock clenches and unclenches his hands. I'm to scared to speak. I have not talk to my parents yet, I am not ready to have a bond with someone. I'm hoping this goes away but it seems more prevalent then ever. We take a step forward at the same time. Spock coughs before speaking.

"Someone has broken a lever." He says plainly before walking back to his office. I stay put as he comes back out with the broken half of the lever. He reluctantly sticks out his hand to give it to me. I stick my hand out under and he drops it in mine, trying our best to avoid contact. I look at it closely, that weird.

"Someone must've been very strong to break this." Definitely not human strength.

"I guess not, I would appreciate your help however." Spock mutters. I nod to him. He turns and walks me over to the panel. We nod at each other before he walks away. I sigh to myself.

"Commander?" I turn around and watch as Spock stops then looks at me. "It is nice seeing you again." I smile at him. This feeling is genuine, but scary. The happiness I feel looking at him is the best and worst feeling in the world. His eyes lit up at my words and expression.

"I can say the same." He walks away back to his office as I figure out this lever.

It might need a new piece but as a temporary fix I can replace the broken lever with a tool. Yea that should work. After some time I finished.

"Commander?" I say loud enough to reach him. He walks out of his office towards me. I turn my back to him as I start to explain. "The part we need might take awhile to get, Ill be sure to order one tonight but for now this works as well." I place my hand on the tool pulling it back. Then put it back to where it was. I turn to him, he was closer than expected, basically shoulder to shoulder. He leans over placing a hand on the tool and pulling it. Our faces were close as I looked at his side profile. My nose almost brushed his cheek. He pulls away after putting the lever back. He then looks down at me as I look up at him.

"Fine work as always Nova." He mutters.

"Thanks Spock." We stayed there for a few moments before my PADD rings. I turn and pick it up off the floor, not the best place to put it but I was working. "I have to go down to engineering. I'll see you later." I say getting my tools and rushing out.

Spock's POV

I was frozen. I stood there wishing for her to be here again. That smile. I walk up to another panel, this time I break a switch or two and mess up a few buttons. This time I'll wait until someone else reports it.

Third POV

A week has gone by, Nova has received another message about something being damage in the laboratory.

"Again?" She questions before getting her tool bag. Making her way there her heart beats quick in her chest. Excitement surges through her body. It's becoming more and more evident that they have a bond. Still she refuses to tell Spock. Nor can she severe the bond without the Spock. She has settled on a temporary solution, don't make the bond any deeper and don't try breaking the bond herself.

Novas been writing in her general to help her through this. Writing down everything she knew about bonds and what they do, how it relates to their situation.

She makes it to the lab. Looking around for a second.

"They left, I will show you where the issue is." I hear Spock's voice behind me. Very close behind her. Nova steps forward turning around, he had leaned down to her level, his height becoming more evident to me. She looks at him, her chest feeling warm at his closeness. Spock enjoying it is well.

"We gotta stop meeting like this Spock." Nova smiles before stepping forward. They couldn't resist, not being together for so long. Their self control was failing. Novas walls and logic slowly breaking down from Spock's secret persistence. And anything that shows that this might be able to work with Spock, the more she is willing to except this bond.

"Yes, I'd have to agree. I do not appreciate my equipment being roughhoused but on the contrary seeing you is welcoming." Spock admits with a stoic expression. The tips of his ears turn green. Novas face gives a light purple. Slowly furthering there bond doesn't seem so bad, she wonders.

"I would have to say the same commander." She mutters looking away with a bashful smile. Spock, while Nova was looking away, turned his lips slightly upward. Her response had made him happier than anything ever had.

"Fascinating." He whispers before standing upright. He leads Nova to the other broken panel.

Oh wow, someone's done a number on this one." Nova says looking at the damage.

"I suppose so, but I am confident in your abilities to fix it." Spock looks to Nova. His heart feeling undeniably calm. He felt soothed by her presence. And Nova was slowly forgetting all the worries and protests she had brought up before.

"Well I better get started then!" Nova smiles before getting to work. Spock is reluctant to leave, even tho they would be in the same area, being away for so long and not truly when they would speak again.

"May I stay to observe you?" Spock asks again leaning in towards her.

"Of course you can." Nova mutters. Spock leans in closer to observe the panel like Nova. His chest was very close to Novas back, his head beside hers as he leaned over. A word was not exchanged for a long time. They stood there silently enjoying the others presence. Nova finds herself moving slowly to fix the panel. She could feel Spock's breathing, his exhale tickling her ear.

"So, how have you been?" Nova breaks the silence. She spoke in a very soft tone that drew Spock in even more to hear.

"I've been well thank you. I would like to inquire the same?" Spock states, also speaking in a low tone.

"So have I, though seeing you has made me more then well." Nova admits. Every concern she had about the bond was practically melting off of her.

"How so?" Spock asks, wondering if Nova truly felt the same as he did.

"I admire you Spock. Every conversation I have with you is cherished." Nova says simply. It was quiet for a few minutes, Spock processing her words. His hands would occasionally twitch behind his back. Kind words were something that Spock was not used to. He wanted to keep her words in his mind so he could replay it over and over.

"I also must admit the same." Spock mutters. Nova smiles to herself. After a few more minutes Nova was done.

"Fascinating."  Spock marvels at Novas work. He was genuinely impressed by her skills. Her PADD rings again. They both back up at the same time before Nova grabs her PADD.

"Scotty needs me in engineering. I will see you later commander, I'm afraid this seems urgent." Nova quickly walks off, forgetting her tools. Apparently, something was wrong with the ships power. It was leaving fast with no explanation as to why.

As Nova rushes off, Spock stood still. He looks at Novas tools before looking around the lab, making sure no one was there. He forcefully held his hands behind his back. This is illogical Spock thought to himself. He walks back to his office and sits, trying his best to focus on work. Too prideful to change Novas schedule which they have agreed to, but so in raptured when with her. Spock doesn't want to admit it, it's illogical to want to be so close to someone. So, how else would they see each other?

Suddenly Spock gets up grabbing the tools.
