Chapter 1 : What The Fuck
It was another day in your average life, waiting to end your basic 9 to 5 job and you could not wait to rush back home to enjoy the sweet solitude of your room but until then you would have to wait.
You didn't hate your job, but you couldn't find the joy of doing it anymore. There was just something missing and you can't put your finger on it but that's how your life was and you were content with it.
Your childhood was a bliss, your teenage self was very chaotic so as an adult, peace was all you wanted. That's right, a normal simple basic life. It's alright to have only your younger brother and friends. There was no need to have a significant lover or the thought of marriage.
The clock struck 5pm and you smiled to yourself. You started packing things up and headed back home.
You put on your head set and blasted your favorite music. Walking towards the traffic light that was opposite the train station, you were looking at your phone for the latest update of your favorite animation or cartoon.
Yes, you were an adult but you enjoyed the simplest of things such as being a hermit in your comfy and safe home.
You were scrolling through social media while waiting for the traffic light to turn green at the crosswalk. At the corner of your eyes you noticed a movement that passed by you and could not help but look up from your phone only to realize that a tall figure's shadow was looming over you.
He was over 7 feet tall and had a rugged long black hood over him. It was covered in dirt and dust but the thing that made you move slightly to the left was what he was holding. A scythe as long as he was. You noticed that he was staring across the crosswalk, most likely waiting for the traffic light.
' A cosplayer? Is that weapon a prob? Damm, he must have put in long hours to piece them up together. I wonder what anime this character is from?' you thought to yourself.
You decided to have the courage to ask him your questions to satisfy your curiosity, " Erm, excuse me! May I ask if I could take a picture with you?"
The said ominous hood figure slowly turned towards your direction and for the first time in a while, you felt your hair on your arms standing up. The sight was very realistic, he had a skeleton face and all you could do was stare into his empty eye socket.
You started to hesitate a little but stopped when he proceeded to nod his head, you quickly adjusted your phone to the front camera mode and took a quick selfie with him. After posing with him, you bowed to thank him and he turned to face towards the opposite crosswalk again.
You quickly clicked on your gallery to edit the photo and post on your social media, you were happily humming to yourself but had stopped when you realized the photo you had taken had only you in it. The said cosplayer was nowhere in the photo.
While in the midst of staring at the photo, you could hear whispers of strangers in the background talking about you.
"That girl must be pretty crazy talking to no one beside her."
"Did you see her taking a photo of herself after talking to no one? Maybe she's talking to her friend on her head set?"
That was when the realization struck you, the cosplayer wasn't real. You quickly looked up to your right to see if perhaps your mind was playing tricks on you.
Your heart started speeding like crazy when you found that he was nowhere on your side anymore. You quickly started looking around and found the hooded skeleton figure in the opposite direction staring directly at you.
