Chapter 9 : Onee-Chan?!
Your eyes widened in astonishment as you heard Luffy's words. The entire crew, as well as everyone present, seemed puzzled by his comment.
' Onee-Chan? Huh?! Wait, I didn't hear him wrong right? He said my name right? Like Big sister? He meant me right? ' You started to think about the new and sudden revelation.
Your head throbbed, as if it were being torn in two. Luffy had called out to you in the same manner your previous younger brother once had, triggering a fragment of a distant memory.
" Don't forget to come see me soon! " Your form changed back to that of your younger self, hand in hand with Shanks on his ship. You waved at Luffy as the red-haired pirates sailed away from the shores of Foosha Village.
Luffy clung to his straw hat and waved back at you and the crew. "I promise, Shanks! I promise, Y/N-Onee Chan!"
Rayleigh, noticing your distress assumed that you were just scared from the sight of blood and had started shaking. But he knew that your father had wanted to keep your lineage a secret from the world and had decided to redirect Luffy's question and walk towards Camie instead.
He climbed the step stool easily and spoke gently towards her, " I'm going to remove your collar now. Are you ready girl?"
His voice had pulled you back to the present and you decided that now was not the time to ponder about your sudden memories of the previous owner of your current body.
"Hold on, old man! Don't be crazy! It'll explode!" Pappag screamed, protesting your grandfather's actions.
" Are you sure about this Luffy?!" Chopper asked his captain.
" Maybe we should just wait until Franky comes back with the key!" Usopp tried to give an alternative choice.
But all he did was just stared at you in your eyes, you stared back into his eyes, not once blinking, 'Trust him,Luffy. He won't hurt here.'
You did your best to convey the message through your eyes. If there's one thing you know about Luffy in the series, is that he is great at knowing a living being's intentions.
"Straw Hat! Stop him!" Pappag started to scream towards Luffy now.
"Gatita-chan, can you jump off for a bit? I will require you to use both my hands for this." You broke your eye contact with Luffy when you heard your grandfather called out to you, suddenly changing your name to him.
Rayleigh did his best to be careful and to ensure that no one knew that Luffy was talking about you. Or at least, for now.
' Aye, aye boss!' You meowed out to him and jumped down to the auction's platform.
He held both of his hands on Camie's shoulders, in an attempt to reassure her, " It'll be alright. Just stay still.
Zoro voiced out his thoughts on you and Rayleigh, warning the crew, " Whatever you guys do, don't be reckless. Cause one thing's for sure is that that old man is not your ordinary guy and that cat- ."
Sanji cut him off, frustrated at the situation and how helpless he felt, " And that somehow means it's okay to leave Camie-chan in his hands?! Dammit! What's Franky doing?!"
The bell on Camie's collar started to tick, indicating the bomb on her neck will go off when the sound starts to tick faster. You could literally smell the anxiety from everyone in the room but you just loafed up in your spot, watching your grandfather's handiwork at play.
