Chapter 20 : Welcome To The Family
Zoro's world shifted abruptly as he felt the connection with you flare to life. The intensity of your emotions hit him like a truck, and he could feel the raw agony and torment that coursed through you. Your pain reverberated within him, tearing at his heart as he shared in your suffering.
In the hot spring, you were no longer the serene and peaceful figure he had seen earlier. Your screams and shouts echoed through the chamber, and the sight of your bloodshot eyes filled him with a sense of urgency and dread. Your claws extended as you writhed in agony, your mind clouded by demonic instincts.
"Roronoa! She has to stay inside the hot spring to let the water fully heal her wounds! If she tries to escape, she'll start bleeding out again and she could die!" Mihawk's urgent words snapped Zoro into action.
Despite the searing pain that surged through his own body due to the connection, Zoro knew that he had to help. With grim determination, Zoro rushed to your side and, with Mihawk's help, managed to hold you down.Your cries and pleads tore at his heart, but he understood that this was a necessary part of the process.
"I-it hurts! D-daddy! DADDY! It hurts! Please! Let me go! LET ME GOOOO!" You cried out in agony, your pain-filled gaze then locking onto Zoro's.
Suppressing his own instincts to let go, your cries of pain filled the room, the sound piercing through Zoro's heart like a blade. He looked into your bloodshot eyes, his own eyes filled with anguish, as you turned to him and accused him.
"Y-you lied to me! YOU LIAR! I would have been better off staying in the cold! H-How could you, Zoro!"
His grip on you faltered for a split second, your words cutting through him like a knife.
But Mihawk's stern voice reminded him of the truth. "Roronoa! Don't let go! She's not herself right now! She will do anything to get out of the water!"
Zoro's heart ached not only from the physical strain of holding you down but also from the emotional turmoil he felt through your shared bond. He gritted his teeth, his determination solidifying once more. He leaned in closer to you, his voice gentle but firm amidst your cries.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I promise I'm not lying to you. You have to stay in the water so you can heal... I'm here with you, and I won't let you go. I know it hurts, but we'll get through this together."
He locked eyes with you, his gaze unwavering as he continued to hold you, offering his strength and support even as your demonic instincts fought against the healing process.
As the agonizing minutes dragged on, Zoro's focus remained solely on you. Your wounds, sustained from the brutal encounter with Akainu, were slowly starting to heal under the magical properties of the hot spring, but the process was far from swift.
Each moment felt like an eternity as he shared your pain, the connection between your souls almost unbearable.
Zoro's breaths came in ragged gasps as he continued to restrain you, his body trembling with the effort. His tongue bore the marks of his own bite, the metallic taste of blood a stark reminder of his determination to stay conscious.
He couldn't afford to lose himself in the pain, not when your well-being was at stake.
He could hear your cries and shouts, your anguish mirroring his own. The relentless ache that surged through his body was both a reminder and a reassurance that you were still there, still fighting.
He knew he had to endure this, had to be there for you.
Zoro's heart pounded like a drum in his chest, each beat echoing the desperation and determination he felt. You had to be alright, you had to come back from this.
