                               Jade

I hurry to get to school and now im actually mad i didn't get the brilliant idea to steal James's umbrella and make a run for it. It's the least he can do, honestly.

After running like an idiot and getting inside of the school i head straight to the bathroom to fix my hair.

When i walk in there i spot almost half the girls in school, looking exactly like me, drenched from the rain.

Some of them are( trying to) fix their hair, some are cleaning up their makeup and some are just trying to comfort their friends.

As soon as i walked in, all their heads snapped in my direction. Bella, one of the actual nicest person i know well at least recognise walks straight over to me and wraps her arms around my shoulders.

"Oh god Jade  you're freezing!" - she exclaims, rushing to grab a towel.

"Im fine really, i mean the rain wasn't even the worst part of the day" - i exhale.
Shit. I just said that out loud. Be calm Jade, these are not the same people as middle school, they're not gonna hold that against you.

"Because of James right?" - another girl i don't recognise says.
She's very pretty though. She's got that model type of face going on. Blonde hair, big brown eyes, and full, red lips.

"Um right you don't know me, duh" - she responds after seeing my confused face.

"Im Isabel, a freshman" - she extends her hand in greeting . Who knew that a bathroom was a great place to make friends?

"Im- the sound of heels walking in interrupts me.
Heather.

" She's Jade "-she answers for me, glaring at me. What did i  ever do to her?

" Oh, well it's nice to meet you Jade "-the blonde girl says. Hey im not good with names okay?

" You too"-i smile genuinely and the girl notices cause she has the same smile on her face if not bigger than mine.

"Cute introduction, now Isabel would you be a sweetheart and help me fix my hair?" - Heather sends Isabel a fake smile. The look of terror on Isabel's face says enough for me to realise she's one of her victims too. Or at least close to becoming one.

You see, i was once friends with Heather too. I know, shocker!
But when freshman year started i wanted to have a fresh start and going to a new school where no one knew me was just that. Until dad informed me James was going to the same school too after we graduated middle school. And as soon as we were assigned a class i just knew his parents transferred him to the same class as mine. Something about James deserving a second chance after what he did or something. They always had this idea that me and James could be friends, even more maybe. But they had no idea about what was really going on. Anyways, everyone knew that Heather was the glue holding our class together so everyone tried to approach her, including me. We became friends and this is exactly how she acted with me first too. Passive-aggressive niceness and rude comments covered by "it was just a joke". And no way in hell was i going to let another person go through that.

So despite the pitch gut feeling in my stomach telling me to not do this, i say: "actually, Isabel was just helping me with my makeup so.." - i grab Isabel's arm without looking at Heather's face. I don't dare to.

Isabel gives me a "thank you" look and i nod at her.

"Yeah, sorry Heather" - she sends Heather an apologetic look, but Heather doesn't look that bothered.

"It's fine babe, we all need to help each other right now, right?" - why does she sound like we're in world war three?

"Yeah.. Right" - Isabel looks unsure but smiles brightly as she turns to me.
"Thank you" - she whispers.
"No problem" - i smile.
