"What other song should we add to the playlist for the party?"-Av asks me after an hour of making a playlist for my so called "birthday party".I told everyone I didn't want to do anything for my birthday but they wouldn't listen .Hence why i am here choosing songs for the party.
"We gotta have Conan Gray songs "-i suggest without hesitation.
"His songs are not really cool party songs "-Av argues.How dare she ?
"I don't care ,it's my birthday party "
"Alright as you wish sweetheart "-Av kisses my cheek from where we're laying in my bed ,a laptop set in fornt of us.
"Hey my babies ,do yall need anything?"-my mom enters my room after knocking.
"More coke !"-Av exclaims.
"I hope you mean coca-cola sweetie "-my mom says ,eyes wide in shock.I can't blame her -Av has a crazy look in her eyes -if she stopped me in the streets like that -I'd belive she was an addict.
"Yes that's obviously what she meant mom"-i roll my eyes .
After that my mom leaves before she comes back with two cokes in her hand .
"Alright i think we're all settled"-Av stands up from my bed and makes her way to my closet.
"We've got Taylor Swift ,the Wekend,Eminem ,Chase Atlantic,the neighbourhood,i think we're good"-she informs-ruffling through my closet to find something that's actually worthy in her eyes .
"Yup we're all ready"
"Now what the hell are you gonna wear that doesn't make you look like you're heading at a funeral "-she says as ,she runs her hands through all my black dresses and tops .
"Im happy with my fashion sense ,thanks very much"-i state proudly.
"Jade i love you ,but maybe you shouldn't be "-she gives me an apologetic look ,her head tilted slightly as she winces .
"Okay ,what do you suggest i wear ?"-i follow her to my closet
"How about we go over to my house ,you can borrow something from me"-she presses a hand over her chest ."From my boobs to yours baby "
"I couldn't do that"-i answer ,knowing that me and her have very different taste in fashion
"Yes you can ,im telling you to "-she gives me a deadpan look ,a hand on her hip ."Luckily we have the same boob size " she moves to my full body mirror as she cups hers -her other hand over my chest .
"You need professional help " -I snort ,pressing a slap over her ass .
She gives me a small glare but I catch the slight twitch of her lips before she rolls her eyes .
"The best people do babe "
Later that evening we arrive at Av's house which is basically my second home.
As we walk in we pass Julian in the kitchen who is eating macaroni.
"Hey Julian "-i mess his hair .
"Stop that"-he gives me a death stare-angling the fork at my face .
I just smile sweetly at him.
We walk to her room when she immediately looks over closet.
"Okay so we have so many options !"-she rubs her hands together excitedly-already throwing out the many -and I mean many -options over the edge of her bed .
"Umm ,im fine with a simple dress "-im not so sure about this.
"No way Jade this is your 18th birthday party ,there's no way we're doing casual "-she shakes her head as she tsks lightly-arms crossed .
"Okay"-i let out a heavy sigh-defeated.
After hours of looking for the perfect dress we settled for a short lacy red dress .The shoulder straps of it were very thin and the bottom part had lacy fabric.It showed a perfect amount of cleavage and it fit slightly tighter over my thighs .
It was perfect.
"Im sorry we couldn't find anything purple that you liked "-Av looks at me,a huge frown on her face as she plops into her bed ,resting her cheek on the back of her hand .
"Don't be stupid Av ,you wore purple on you're birthday,I can't do the same"-i reason ,flicking my hair over my shoulder as I stare at my reflection in the mirror
"Who says you can't?"
"Whatever im just happy we found something"-I smooth over the dress .
"Thank you Avery -seriously this is gorgeous " -I turn to face her .
"You're the gorgeous one " she smiles softly at me .
Im not one to throw affection around randomly-but a numerous amount of emotions flud by me as I stare back at my best friend .Gratitude for her patience with me -I can be a whole lot - ,thankful for her kindness and infinite support and just love .
So much love and care for the girl who didn't hesitate or look at me weirdly like everyone did freshman year .Love for the girl who sat next to me with no hesitation when we got partnered up -the girl who just introduced herself casually and offered me half of her chocolate.
Without thinking twice ,I lunge forward and plop on top of her , pulling her in for a tight embrace .
She doesn't blink ,she doesn't even seem shocked .She just giggles softly before she returns the hug ,wrapping her legs around mine .
"If you fuck up my dress -I'll use your skull for my next lighting study "- her voice comes muffled -but threatening enough for me to nod frequently.
