"Hey!" your friend, Choi Lia, exclaimed with excitement as you crossed paths in the hallway.

You and your friends joyfully talked amongst each other, discussing the events from earlier today, homework that had been irritably assigned, and so on.

However, discreetly in the background, your girlfriend, Shin Ryujin, engaged in conversation with one of her ardent admirers, a term you have come to dislike. In an effort to garner her attention, you entertained the notion of inciting a hint of jealousy by hastening your interactions with the rest of the group, or someone close by. Your next move, whether to approach others or to provoke that particular admirer, was contingent on whichever option presented itself first.

Shifting your gaze to another direction, they met with the infamous Hwang Yeji, one of the most popular girls in your school because of her charisma, astounding beauty, and playgirl role. Yeji also held the position of the starting quarterback for the football team, while your girlfriend played as the wide receiver alongside her.

Given your role as the cheer captain, your peers often speculated that you and Yeji would make a perfect match.

Undeniably, Yeji possessed a striking blend of attractiveness and charm. But unfortunately, Ryujin strongly disapproved of even the slightest exchange of glances between the two of you. Yet, you regularly converse with her.

You headed straight for the quarterback, walking towards her direction, her presence not too far from Ryujin's. As she glanced up at you, you gave her a slight wave and a warm smile, offering friendliness.

Yeji reciprocated similarly, standing up straight and tucking away her phone. "Hey, love. What are you doing?" she asked you as you stood in front of her.

You tilted your head up, meeting her gaze. "Nothing... Just getting out of that horde," you joked, both of you sharing a giggle. "Seems like you're alone, huh? The Hwang Yeji, alone? Why's that?"

"My girl's class is on the whole other side of campus. I'm waiting for my friends, but they're taking too fucking long," she explained in her husky voice, sending a chill down your spine, along with the fact she mentioned Chaeryeong. She stole a glance from the left, her eyes landing on someone from that side, then back towards you. "Isn't Ryujin your girlfriend?"

"Well, yeah, but..."

"She's staring my ass down."

You could even feel your girlfriend's glare printed right on your back, too.

You shakily sighed, gulping away your anxiety and guided the conversation onto something else. As you held your elbow, you elaborated your previous thoughts, "But I was gonna ask if you were ready for the game on, uh, Friday. My team is, and hopefully you guys are, too."

"Oh, of course. Yeah, we are." She scanned her sight into the same area, stopping at a particular someone. "But Ryujin and I are causing, like, some complications in the team, I guess." She returned her gaze onto you, smirking as she slid her hands into her pockets.
