"Psst, Midoriya." No response. "Midoriya!"
The sage haired boy jumped as a paper ball was pelted at the back of his head, his innocent eyes gazing ahead where Kaminari and Kirishima sat at their desks. Bakugou snorted from his seat in front of Midoriya, a hand glued to his mouth as he tried to muffle the laugh that wanted to burst from his mouth.
A few seats away, Iida was telling off Kaminari for throwing paper at the concentrated boy who had been doing his work like they were supposed to.
"Come over here, please." Kirishima asked, his eyes darting to Iida who stared at them. "...I need your help with my work."
Midoriya nodded, standing up from his seat and bringing his notebook and pen with him. He crouched down beside Kirishima, Kaminari turning his seat around and Sero shuffling his seat over. Even Ashido, whose desk was next to Kaminari's, moved her seat over to Kirishima's desk.
Midoriya glanced nervously between his classmates, realising that this was definitely not about school work if it involved Kirishima, Kaminari, Sero and Ashido.
"Oi, are Todoroki and Takahashi dating?" Sero muttered quietly, glancing at Rin who sat behind his desk.
Midoriya's gazer turned to Shoto and Rin – Rin having turned her chair around while the two quietly worked on their school work together. When Midoriya turned back to Sero, he flinched as he saw the four staring at him expectantly.
Everyone had heard about how he, Shoto, Rin and Iida had gotten caught up in the Hosu Incident – not specifically that they'd defeated Stain himself since they'd been forbidden from speaking about it – but they'd heard enough to know that they'd all been involved somehow.
And ever since, Shoto and Rin had been strangely close, which was suspicious given that the entirety of Class 1A couldn't go a day without feeling uncomfortable around the duo.
Despite this, no one was brave enough to ask if they were dating.
Midoriya let out a weary sigh. It was only the first week back at school since internships and so much gossip was already circulating.
"I... I don't know." Midoriya whispered, making Ashido and Kaminari groan.
"Are you just saying that because Todoroki is your friend?" Kaminari complained, Midoriya shaking his head profusely.
"I swear, I have no idea!" He whisper-shouted, making a few students turn their heads to the loud group.
It was true: Midoriya had no idea what was going on between Shoto and Rin, at least for sure. He'd spotted them walking to and from school together, and even caught them sitting together during lunch. But, there was no definite answer – especially since Midoriya knew that Shoto and Rin were most likely going to get married after Rin had defeated Shoto during the festival.
He too, like the rest of his classmates, was too intimidated to ask something so personal.
"Well, can you ask?" Ashido whispered. "Todoroki actually likes you, you're the only one who could possibly ask."
Midoriya shook his head, "no way."
Kirishima grabbed his shoulder, shaking him slightly. "Please?~"
The green haired boy groaned, "aren't you guys friends with Kaachan? Can't you ask him to ask Takahashi?"
Out of all the unlikely friendships that had formed due to the sports festival, Rin and Bakugou's friendship was the strangest of them all. They didn't seem particularly close, Bakugou just didn't hiss at her whenever she approached him so they just assumed they were on friendly terms.
