Mila

Yawning I make my way downstairs, fighting the headache.

The house was oddly quiet today beside the familiar voice booming from the kitchen.

I walk into the kitchen and see Giovanni on his phone, he looks at me for a second before going back to his conversation.

The kids are at school and I'm guessing he gave his staff the day off.

I walk over to the counter before remembering that he doesn't have a coffee maker because he didn't drink coffee and I almost cry as I let out a whine.

He looks over at me and raises a brow.

"I need coffee!" I say loud enough for him to hear but not to interrupt his call.

He rolls his eyes.

"Why don't you have a coffee maker?" I ask as I make a plate of breakfast before sitting at the table and eating.

He continues talking on the phone before motioning toward his computer, he pulls out his wallet and hands me a black card my eyes go wide.

He was letting me order one?

He continues talking on the phone as I stare at the card, a real black card... I take a second to look at him.

How rich is this man?

I looked up coffee makers and found a good one.. a bit pricy but he can afford it, so I clicked place order... I scroll down the lists to see his cart.. filled with toys and everything a 5-year-old can ask for...

Was he going to buy that for my kids? My eyes tear up before he turns over to me, I quickly blink my tears away and shut the laptop.

He finally gets off the phone and looks like he's checking a text. "Six thousand dollars?" He says. "Mila, you spent six thousand dollars on a coffee maker?" I smile knowing he'd make me cancel the order.

But it was so cute and had so many gadgets and it was a cute sage green color.

"My addiction is pricy," I say. "And it was green! I love green things if you haven't noticed." I motion to all the green things I've moved in here to make it feel a bit like home.

"I've noticed your plants, Mila."

"If you can't afford it I can find a cheaper one.." I joke.

"Don't insult me." He says as he walks out of the kitchen.

"Wait!" I go after him. "Your card.." I say handing him the card that probably holds more money than I can even count.

"That's yours, Mila."

"What?"

"If you're marrying me you're going to need your own money.."

"I can work-"

"And if you're marrying me you are most certainly not working a 9-5 job." He says.

Oh..

"But I can't take this.."

"Then you'll be wasting money because I'm not taking it back. Keep it Mila." With that, he walks upstairs.

I stare at the card before shoving it into my pocket and going back to the kitchen to eat my breakfast.

Giovanni walks back into the kitchen. "I almost forgot, the school called." That piqued my interest.

"About?"

"Isabella got in 'an altercation' and they need you to go to the school." He says as I frantically get up.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I quickly get up to find something to put on. "How long ago was this?"
