Giovanni

"Talk," I said as I pulled the gun out of my waistband and pressed it under the asshole's chin.

"I told you everything, I don't know where he is!" He shouted, I looked over to Dario who pulled his gun out as he knees him in the stomach.

"Start talking." He says as he punches him directly in the mouth.

The man looks up as blood pours out of his mouth, he closes his mouth for a second before spitting blood directly onto Dario's cheek.

I sigh, tucking my gun into my waistband watching as Dario wipes the spit from his cheek, and slowly looks back at the man before cocking his gun back and shooting the man in his shoulder causing him to cry out.

"Now talk, or the next shot is going to your dick," I said.

"Fine fine!" The man breaths. "I don't know where you can find Blaze, but I know where his shipment is landing.. tonight." He says.

He gives us the details before I pull my gun out and shoot him in the head for wasting my time, I begin walking out of the warehouse.

"Boss, what are we going to do about the shipment?" Dario asks.

"You and Sergio handle it, I've got a fucking wedding to plan," I say as I leave, getting into my car and speeding down the street.

It's been about a week since Mila agreed to the marriage and my mother was already planning, Mila enrolled her children into a new school.

I usually didn't like kids but hers I can tolerate, I guess since we're getting married now I'd have to get used to having kids around and eventually have kids of my own so my father would get off my back.

My phone rings and I pull it out of my pocket and hold it up to my ear. "Dove sei ragazzo?"

"Ma, I'm on my way," I say as I take a right.

"Everyone is waiting for you Gio, you've left the poor women waiting." I roll my eyes, my mother loved to exaggerate.

"I'm sure she's fine," I said, referring to Mila, I'm sure she'd be happier if I didn't show up at all.

"Get here, now! Your father is getting upset."

I roll my eyes again, refraining myself from letting out a groan. "When is he not fucking upset." I heard my mom sigh on the other end, I was already done with this call.

"Behave yourself when you get here please?" She says before finally hanging the phone up.

I finally get to the location where my mother is holding brunch, she's invited a bunch of family members, and my fingers pinch the bridge of my nose before finally walking in.

The first thing I notice is Mila sitting down with an empty seat beside her as she awkwardly answers my family's questions.

I sit down next to her and I can notice how she visibly relaxes as the attention is now on me.

"Gio you made it, I thought we'd have to send over some of the guys to get you to come." My Aunt Rose says as she takes a sip of her tea.

"Just had some business to take care of.." I said as my eyes found my moms, she was pointing at Mila.

My eyebrows crease as she mouths. "Take her hand." I roll my eyes as I slip my hand under the table to meet hers.

She hesitates for a second before her fingers lace mine, she looks at me before quickly looking away.

She's avoided me all week ever since what went down in my bedroom and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't killing me.

She looks so fucking good in the tight-fitting dress she wore now, though it made me want to rip the heads off of my cousin's necks each time they stared at her for a second too long.

"So, Mila," Rose stares, which causes her hand to hold mine a tad bit tighter as her back stiffens. "Are you going to be inviting any of your family to the wedding?" She asks causing Mila to frown before turning it into a sad smile.

She shakes her head. "I don't have family, besides my kids." She says causing all eyes on her once again.

"Oh! You have children.." Rose slides her gaze to me, and I roll my eyes.

"I'm fine with it, it's not a big deal," I said.

"As long as you're happy nino." Her Spanish slips as she looks back at Mila. "Well, are the kid's father in their lives."

Mila's brows furrowed before she let out a huff. "That's a bit personal isn't it?" She asks as she lets go of my hand.

"She was just asking dear." Someone else chimes in.

"Touchy subject?" My father says as he takes a bite of his food.

"It's complicated," Mila says with her head down.

"I mean, if she couldn't keep the last one what makes her any good for our Gio, Forse dovrebbe trovare qualcuno di nuovo."

(Maybe he should find someone new)

I roll my eyes not liking the way my family was interrogating her. "Basta così!" I shout, defending Mila.

(That's enough!)

"I'm going to get a drink, excuse me," Mila says shyly as she walks off.

"Keep your voice down son, everyone is here to give their opinions on your bride." My father says.

"I didn't ask for anyone's fucking opinion, and you all coming for her was very fucking mature!" I glare at them mostly Rose who just shrugs.

"We just want what's best for you, is a single mother really who you want to settle down with? Have you given this any thought?" Another family member speaks.

"I think I have my own choice of who I fucking marry, I don't care if she has kids I've made a choice and you all aren't changing it," I said sternly, the table goes quiet.

"Fucking soft." I hear my father whisper, choosing to ignore him I get out of my seat and go to find where Mila went off to.

It takes me a bit to find her hiding in a dark corner of the back room.

I don't say anything as I sit next to her, she wipes her tears and sniffs, laying her arms on her knees as she lays her head on her arms facing the opposite side of me.

"Stop crying, Mila," I say not knowing how to comfort her.

She scoffs through her tears. "Please leave me alone." She says.

"No."

"No?" She looks over at me with puffy eyes, somehow still looking as beautiful as ever. "Giovanni I want to be alone right now." She says.

"I'm not leaving this spot, Mila," I said as I looked down at her.

"Fine." She says as she gets up to leave before my arm wraps around her waist pulling her back to her spot.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"I don't want to do this, that's what's wrong. Your family fucking hates me and I don't want that around my children."

"Fuck them." I roll my eyes.

"Excuse me?" She says.

I quickly put my hands up. "I meant my family, who cares what they think."

"I care."

"Well don't," I said, not knowing what else to say, I wasn't used to the whole comforting thing, honestly I wanted to get out of here to avoid the awkward situation but something wasn't letting me.

It takes a few minutes for her to fully calm down. "You ready to go back out there?" I ask.

"I honestly want to leave... but yes." She sighs.

I stand up and reach a hand down to her.

She hesitates for a second before taking my hand and pulling herself up, not letting go of my hand. "I'll stick with you all night, they won't say anything if I'm there."

She nods.
