Mila
Only two more weeks until I was officially married, I've been having some second thoughts.
Something that's supposed to be one of the biggest moments of my life and I have no control over it.
But at the same time, a part of me thinks this change might be a good one, the kids will have a chance to get to know their father even though I still have yet to tell them the truth.
The new school I put the kids in has already been a success, both Isa and Cade have made so many friends.
"I'm off for the rest of the day, did you need anything before I left?" Victoria asks and I shake my head.
"I'm fine," I wave her off. "Enjoy your evening." I smile and she smiles back before waving.
Gio walks down the stairs and into the kitchen grabbing a cup. "I'm off boss, did you need anything before I left?" Victoria asks.
"No." He says as he pours himself a drink, she nods and leaves.
We were now alone. "Do you start your days with a glass of whiskey?" I ask raising a brow.
"Only when I'm stressed." He says as he throws the shot back.
"The kids will be home soon," I say to which he looks up at me and puts the bottle away. "Thank you."
"Did you need anything from me before I left sir?" Lia walks into the kitchen and I roll my eyes as I stab my pancake.
"No." He says as he leans against the counter.
"Are you sure?" She says as she twirls a finger around her hair and I fight back the urge to scoff.
"You may leave," Gio says sternly to which she rolls her eyes and leaves.
"You should learn to be nicer to your workers," I said as I shoved my fork into my mouth.
"I don't want them getting the wrong idea." He says as he faces Me.
"A bit late for that no?" I ask referring to the time I saw Lia walking out of his room in a disheveled mess.
He raises a brow to which I shrug.
My phone chimes and I get up. "My rides here."
"Excuse me?" He asks.
"My Uber?"
"and where are you going?" He asks as I sling my bag over my shoulder.
"To the mall, the twin's birthday is coming up I have to start shopping." And with that card, he got me my kids are about to have the best birthday ever.
"No, no Ubers."
"Excuse me?" I ask.
"I'll take you, come on." He says.
"But I already paid for-"
"Cancel it and come on." He says grabbing his coat, I sigh and cancel the ride before following Gio to his car.
He starts driving towards the mall. "When's their birthday?" He asks.
"October 21st," I say and he nods.
"Mila, that's not for another month."
"I like to start early." I shrug.
As he drives I think about the fact that I'm getting married in two weeks, I knew that I'd have to tell GIO about the kids before I do that, I just don't know how to do it.
I can't stand to do it face to face.. maybe I'll write a letter?
At the mall, I buy the kids a few things for their birthday coming up and Gio pays for everything, he grabs my bags and walks out of the store with me walking beside him.
