Chapter 9 - The Invitation

Scars POV

- CUB SHUT IT!! -

I was extremely embarrassed while talking to Cub. I was telling him about how Grian covered me like a protection shield with his wings. (Chapter 7) Cub being Cub had been teasing me about it for longer than I wanted, I didn't want to be teased at all.

- Why should I shut up when you can't stop talking about him hm~ -

Cub kept being annoying by not stopping. I got extremely flustered and covered my face.

- He has a point but I don't know for sure -

Scar said in his head still flustered.

- Why are you being so quite Scarrr am I correct then hmm~? -

Cub said teasingly. I still didn't want to tell him but I didn't want to be so defensive about it or else he'll know. So I gave in and told him about my undying, unyielding love for the small parrot man.

- Oh fuck oh well, you have caught me in my Web of lies. Its true I do like Grian -

I confessed to Cub, he kind of forced me to though. A shit eating grin spread across his face.

I feel my face burning under his gaze. He probably would've know by the first interaction of me and Grian if he was there. I've always had these feelings for Gri.

- don't tell him, please -

I muttered covering my face so he couldn't tell how embarrassed I was.

- don't worry I'll let you tell him yourself i can see you're getting extremely flustered because we're talking about him, you'll do it soon enough i'm sure -

Cub said back grinning, he was right though I'd most likely ask him myself but I'm just so scared he won't like me back. I needed to tell Cub this though, he would know.

- I would tell him myself but I'm worried that he won't like me back -

- don't say that -

Cub said, comfortingly. Of course he would like you back.

- you should ask him -

- maybe another time, I think he's got enough on his plate. With Iskall and everything you know. -

Scar looked down in semi-defeat.

- you'll never know if you try. Come on Scar at least give it a go. You never know it might make his week. -

Cub was being quite persistent now. I didn't know anymore and was just confused. I covered my face again.

- I don't know Cub just give me a day or 2 to process my thoughts, I might not actually like him and just confused -

I was completely stumped. Yes I most likely do like Gri, but you can't be too careful. So I will never ask him out.

- Just give it a go Scar, I'll always be here for you -

Cub patted my back before standing up.

- Well I better get going -

- Wait Cub! What where you going to ask yesterday? You just showed up and all hell broke loose, so? -

I barged in to ask before he left, I felt bad but needed to know. He did come to my base for a reason, he never comes unless it's important.

- Oh it's nothing for you to worry about Scar -
