Chapter 16 - Optimism

Scars POV

- Let everyone be happy your back Scar, we'll look at the note in more detail tomorrow -

Xisuma said solemnly, putting his helmet back on.

- But he's gone X!! He's gone!! -

Tears streamed down my face, racing one another as they dripped down my chin. Cub hugged me rubbing my back.

- Just be glad you're back Scar, Yes Grian is gone but we'll find a way to get him back -

Cub shot a look at Xisuma for conformation, Xisuma nodded.

- Just try an calm down, I'm here for you -

Cub uttered, I wiped my tears but it didn't make a dent in how much water was falling. I nodded trying to control my breathing as I heard people's voices getting louder as they entered my house. Cub let go of the hug just as Cleo burst through the door rushing over to me.

- Scar, oh thank god you're OK -

She hugged my tight as more and more people piled on top making a human blob. None of them were Grian. If he was here, he would've been the first in the room. Oh god I miss him so much. Tears quickly started falling, everyone asking if I was ok, I nodded and plastered a smile on my face. Everyone laughed and some started crying with me but for the wrong reason.

A couple hours later everyone had left and it was just me, Cub and X again. I sat on the couch my face I my hands as I started to cry again.

- What does the note say X? -

I whispered, barley any noise came out.

- it says... -

Xisuma repeated what the note said, I started crying harder not making noise as I did so though. I wanted him here with me instead of in the Watcher world.

- How will we get him back? -

I question, still whispering so I wouldn't be a stuttering mess.

- I... don't know Scar if I'm going to be clear -

- No spells? -

- None that I know of... -

- Well  let's get searching -

I walked over to my room, finding my spell books. I had never read one through because I got so bored, this time it was for a purpose, a purpose to get Grian back. I grabbed an arm full before bringing them back to the living room, plopping them down on the table. Grabbing one and looking through the content page.

- Scar I doubt you would have a spell book on how to enter the Watcher wor- -

- Xisuma, Cub, just search you will never know. -

They looked at each other in defeat as they got to work grabbing a book each reading through every page.

A couple hours later

- Scar why do you have like 200 books on magic? -

Cub questioned me, obviously he hasn't paid attention to my room layout and well books for many years.

- Because why not but there must be a spe- -

- I FOUND ONE! -

Xisuma yelled. It was now 11pm so my hearing was used to quite noise, it made me jump quite high.

- You found one?!? -

I shouted, getting up out of my seat to look over his shoulder.
