Tony: Ok guys, before the evening draws to a close it's time for another Avengers Christmas tradition.
Victoria: What tradition?
I ask and take a sip of my Vodka Cranberry. I don't even know how many i had. It's a miracle I'm not drunk yet.
Loki: The tradition is that Bucky always plays the piano for us.
Piano? I didn't even know James could play the piano.
Bucky: Does that have to be?
Thor: Oh come on, we all know you love to play the piano.
I sit up in James' arms so I can face him.
Victoria: I didn't even know you played the piano.
Sam: That's something he's exceptionally good at.
Bucky: There are many things I'm good at.
I can only agree. Even if most things are things that are not intended for the general public.
Steve: Oh come on buddy. You playing for us is part of Christmas.
Bucky: Would you like to hear it, doll?
Definitely! The thought of him playing one of the most beautiful instruments gets me all excited.
Victoria: I would love to hear you play James.
Bucky: Fine. But first, a toast - I'll drink to a tradition created just for you guys.
He raises his drink and we all toast. After finishing his drink, he gets up and walks over to the huge piano, which strangely enough I'm only now noticing. And what happened next is absolutely incredible. James' fingers fly over the piano keys and he plays just about every Christmas classic - Silent night, Jingle Bells, oh what a merry christmas day and even a piano version of Last Christmas at the end. He's totally immersed in the music the whole time until he starts Last Christmas. As soon as he starts this song, he looks up at me and smiles so lovingly that my whole body is flooded with warm tingles. I thought it was impossible to fall in love with him more, but every second I fall in love with him more and more. I don't even know how to put my feelings for him into words anymore. After he's done, he gives an exaggerated bow before coming over to me, pulling me into his arms and kissing me.
Victoria: That was incredibly beautiful baby.
James blushes. I don't know if I've ever seen James blush before.
Bucky: Thanks. I played Last Christmas just for you.
Victoria: Thank you James.
I lean in for another kiss when Tony cuts us off.
Tony: Like every year, it was absolutely perfect.
Steve: Indeed it was.
Bucky: That wasn't anything special.
Victoria: Nothing special? That was wonderful.
Bucky: You are wonderful.
He still holds me in his arms and I snuggle up to him. We sit together for a while until James and I decide to head home. While James gets our jackets from the cloakroom, Nat and Wanda pull me aside.
Nat: It's almost time. I'm so excited to see how the guys will react.
Wanda: Me too. Tomorrow we'll call you Vicky to see and tell how it went.
Victoria: Alright. Then I'll hear from you tomorrow. And remember, don't do anything I wouldn't do.
Wanda: So you mean we can do anything and the kinkier the better?
Instead of saying something, I just grin meaningfully at the two of them. Wanda is right, there really isn't a lot I wouldn't do. We hug before I walk over to where James is standing with the boys. He helps me into my coat, we say goodbye to everyone and take the elevator down. In the car I can't stop thinking about how James will react to the pictures. I can't wait to give them to him.
