Girls night?

The next few weeks pass quietly and uneventfully. And before I know it, the day has FINALLY arrived at the beginning of May when I got the OK from the doctor to end my bed rest and resume all physical activity. Although it was more or less foreseeable, I am as happy as a little child to be able to live my life completely unrestricted again. That's why i am disappointed when I come back to the Avengers Tower and find that James isn't there. He was sent on a last minute mission by Tony and isn't expected to be back until tonight. Thanks Tony! I hadn't imagined it like that. I was hoping that we would celebrate the end of my bed rest as a couple and completely naked. Then I'll just have to postpone my plans until tonight. Bored, I'm sitting in my room flipping through the TV channels when my bedroom door flies open and Nat and Wanda come in.

Wanda: Come on Vicky, you're going out with Nat and me today. We haven't had a girls' night out in far too long.

Victoria: I actually wanted to wait here until James got back.

Nat: Oh come on. Just because you sit here and wait for him doesn't mean he'll get home any quicker. You go out to dinner with Wanda and me and as soon as we get home you can spend the whole night with your lover.

Wanda: Oh yes! A real girls' night out. And we really dress up.

Somehow the two of them are right. Instead of waiting here for James and getting bored, I can go out to dinner with them. And by the time we get back, James might be here again.

Victoria: Fine, you two are right. Come on girls, let's get dressed up properly.

Grinning broadly, the two disappear for a moment and come back shortly afterwards with clothes from their wardrobes. As we get ready together, I notice how much I'm looking forward to going out with the two of them. I can't really remember the last time we did something together. Definitely before the whole Iceland and Peter was kidnapped thing.

Victoria: God, we haven't done this in too long.

Wanda: That's right. Why does this happen to us again and again, that we so rarely spend time as just the three of us?

Nat: Because some assholes keep trying to destroy our lives and take up our time for stuff like that?

Victoria: There could be something to that.

Wanda: Then we just have to make tonight memorable, in case there's another asshole who wants to destroy our lives.

Giggling, we continue to get ready, put on makeup, do our hair and finally change into our outfits for tonight. I chose a floor-length black dress with a soft pink floral pattern. The dress has only thin straps, a low-cut neckline and a slit on the left that reaches up to the thigh, simple black high strappy sandals, soft pink eyeshadow and pink lipstick. I wear my hair straightened so that it falls down my back like a curtain. Wanda is wearing a light blue pants suit with a white blouse and matching high heels and Nat is also wearing a floor-length light green dress with batwing sleeves and flat sandals in the same color. Nat wears her hair in a thick braid and Wanda lets her hair hang in its natural waves over her shoulders. As always, we look incredible.

Victoria: I would say we look incredible and are definitely ready to go.

Wanda: I agree. Let's go.

Nat and Wanda hook their arms to my left and right and together we make our way down to the underground car park where we all take a seat in Wanda's car. We've been on the road for a few minutes when I realize that we're not heading towards the city center. Strange, usually when we go out for dinner , we go downtown. Why not today? And more importantly, where do we go then?

Victoria: I thought we were going out for dinner? Then why don't we go downtown?

Nat: Oh, Wanda and I are going to have dinner.

Wanda: Without you, though. You have other plans.

Victoria: What are you talking about? I have no other plans.

When neither of them says anything, I get nervous. What's going on here? When we pull up to my house a few minutes later, the nervousness gives way to sheer confusion. What are we doing here?

Victoria: What are we doing here?

Nat: Well, WE don't do anything. However, you will now get out and go inside.

Victoria: Girls, what's going on here?

I definitely won't get out without knowing what's going on here.

Wanda: You'll see that soon. So get out now and get your butt inside, you're already expected.

I still don't understand what's going on here, but the look they're both giving me makes me know that I don't want to miss what's waiting for me. I get out and walk towards the house. From a distance it looks completely empty, but as I get closer I can see dim, flickering light through the living room window. It's a good thing that I take my bunch of keys with me everywhere, otherwise I wouldn't even be able to get in. Curious, I unlock the door and go in.

Victoria: Hello? Is anyone home?
