olivia entered the paddock alongside oscar. as per usually cameras surrounded the pair as they made their way to the mclaren garage. olivia had become more accustomed to having the cameras in her face. the brunette wasn't as anxious when looking down the lens anymore.

andrea stella and zak brown greeted the pair at the doors before walking in together. oscar made a beeline for his driver room, not forgetting to tak olivia's hand to take her with him.

"i have to get changed for interviews but you can relax in here for a bit or you can join me." the aussie explained. olivia nodded taking her place on the couch.

"i think i'll join you. i'm interested to see how all the media stuff works behind the scenes."

"yeah?" the brunette nodded. "you can talk to charlotte about it if you have any questions."

"oh i plan too." olivia smiled at the boy.

without hesitation oscar pulled his black shirt off his body. olivia's eyes widened as she stared at his bare torso not expecting it. her head quickly snapped away, but her eyes subtly glanced back at his toned chest.

oscar's eyes landed on the girl, a smirk forming on his lips when he noticed her trying her best not to look but failing miserably. he quickly grabbed his mclaren team shirt pulling it over his head.

"you can look now. don't worry i'm decent." he chuckled, folding his discarded shirt. olivia's cheeks tinted with blush.

the pair's eyes then flicked to her phone which was buzzing, "oh it's aiden. i should take this."

oscar nodded as olivia stepped out into the hallway, accepting the call. "hi—"

"i miss you so much baby." olivia giggled.

"i miss you too."

"have you talked to your dad yet about why you can't come back?" the girl sighed.

"nope," she groaned, "he's been avoiding most of my calls."

the pair talked a little longer until oscar exited his driver room, "oh babe i have to go, but i'll call you later. bye!"

"everything okay?" the aussie questioned.

"yeah, aiden's still sad i'm not home yet."

"if it makes you feel any better i'm happy you're here." he flashed a cheeky smile, leaning closer to her.

olivia rolled her eyes playfully, pushing his face away by his chin. oscar chuckled as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. the pair walked out of the garage to where charlotte stood with lando.

"chop chop oscar, media pen." the aussie nodded. olivia unwrapped herself from his grip.

the group walked over towards the media pen. a smile rested on oscar's lips as he watched olivia enthusiastically asking charlotte questions as they walked ahead of the two drivers.

"oh mate, you are so whipped." lando exclaimed pulling oscar's attention to the brit.

"i—"

"don't you dare." lando shook his head with a smile, "it's so obvious, you can't deny it."

"yeah, well— i could say the same thing about you and reya ramos." lando's eyes widened at the mention of the journalist he had a crush on.

"touché." oscar smirked and nodded as they reached the open air box of cameras and reporters.

olivia stood in a corner of the media pen, directly in eye line of the australian mclaren driver. her eyes narrowed as a young woman approached oscar. he smiled at her as they greeted each other.

olivia carefully watched their exchange from a far, oscar leaned closer to the barrier separating him and the blonde reporter as she giggled at something he had said. the brunette raised an eye brow.

olivia's eyes followed the blonde as she exited the media pen. her legs moved fast to catch up with her before she disappeared into the crowded paddock.

"hi—" olivia can to a halt in front of the girl catching her off guard. the blonde was shocked at first but smiled.

"hello..."

"um.. i'm olivia, oscar's best friend." the blonde nodded.

"ah, yes of course. you've become really popular lately. well with your song and rumours of you being oscar's secret girlfriend."

"oh no, those rumours are completely false. i have a boyfriend back home. oscar and i are just friends."

"okay..."

"i didn't get you name?"

"serena." olivia perked up.

"well, serena it was nice to meet you. i was wondering if you want to swap numbers?" the blonde seemed impressed with olivia's boldness and nodded.

the two girls swapped phone numbers before waving each other goodbye. olivia waited till serena couldn't see her to book it back to media.

"oscar!" the brunette shouted as the aussie was leaving the media.

"olivia!" he faked her same enthusiasm and chuckled. "what's up?"

"i saw you!" the rookie driver was dumbfounded as they walked back to the mclaren garage, "you were so flirting with that reporter!"

the australian blushed, "wha— what do you mean?"

"don't lie to me. i know you better then that." she smirked, "she is really pretty, i will say."

"yeah, she's gorgeous." he admitted, truthfully. oscar had been surprised when the beautiful blonde had approached him in the pen. he found himself subconsciously flirting with her.

"well then, you'll be happy to know i got her number for you."

"what?!" oscar stopped in his tracks.

"relax, piastri." the argentinian rolled her eyes, "i just went up to her and introduced myself and got her number."

"you're insane liv."

"i guess i'm not giving you the number now." she huffed.

"okay, but what makes you think even if you gave me her number that anything would happen?"

"because she giggled when you flirted with her and i know you suck at flirting so she is totally into you!" oscar bit his lip.

the australian took a moment to think. of course he still had feelings for olivia, but it was clear that nothing was going to happen between them. they were completely platonic. so there was no harm in him getting the reporters number, he had the right to move on.

"give me the number." oscar whispered and olivia perked up. she clapped her hands and hugged him.

"yay!" olivia pulled out her phone, "it's about time you get yourself a love life."

oscar rolled his eyes, "less talking and more number giving."

"jeez someone's edger." olivia smirked as oscar began to walk away.

"sent it!" she yelled after him, "make sure to use it."

oscar didn't look back, only flashing her the bird as he entered deeper into the garage. olivia rolled her eyes and giggled.

i've been watching too much gossip girl hence the new girl being blonde and named 'serena' 😅😅 anywayyyyy how are we feeling about oscar trying to move on from olivia and olivia unknowingly helping him?? 💀

in other news school is so exhausting 😭 that's why i've been so inactive!! i wanna post more often i just don't have time to write and proof read the chapters so i'm trying my best rn to at least update once a week on tuesday (which is update day) for you guys 😁🫶
