xxxvi. kiss kiss

5th july 2023, afternoon
london, england

lando opened the apartment door, greeting the four australians with open arms. it was the week of the british grand prix and to say the mclaren boys were stressed would be an understatement.

after the dismal start to mclaren's season, the team at woking had been working overtime to prepare upgrades for the car to hopefully give their drivers a chance to fight at that top.

the british grand prix was mclaren's most important race of the season; being both lando and the team's home race.

to help relieve some stress, lando decided to have a bunch of the drivers and some other friends over at his apartment for a small party.

"you guys are so late." lando complained, letting the four of them in.

"it's caleb's fault. he wasn't getting out of his bath." oscar eyed his friend.

"do you know how long it has been since i had a bubble bath?" caleb defended. delara and olivia giggled and oscar playfully rolled his eyes.

the five of them entered the living room. charles and carlos, george, fernando and—both— max v and max f were already there. they all greeted the aussies with smiles and cheers.

"i'm going to... go talk to george." delara tucked her hair behind her ears and smiled nervously at olivia. liv smirked and nodded.

caleb had found himself on the couch with max v and the ferrari boys playing mario kart. subsequently, liv made her way to lando and oscar where they stood, at lando's make shift bar.

"shouldn't you all not be drinking this close to the weekend?" liv questioned, taking a coke from the table and cracking it open.

"technically there are no rules saying we can't." lando responded, taking a drink of his beer.

"i think as long as we don't show up to drive the car drunk or hung over we should be fine." oscar added.

"you want a drink?" lando motioned to the array of alcohol. olivia nodded and the brit handed her a glass.

the party started out relaxing, it wasn't until everyone had a few drinks in them that the music turned up and everyone was yelling the lyrics at the top of their lungs.

"i feel bad for lando's neighbours." liv giggled as oscar wrapped his arm around her. the aussie boy chuckled and pulled her towards the group to dance.

it was midnight when the drivers started leaving, olivia and oscar, both slightly tipsy, walked out hand in hand with their friends thanking lando for a great night. caleb ordered the four of them an uber. the group waiting on the pavement for the car to arrive.

liv couldn't help but feel grateful in the moment. the corners of her mouth lifting up at the sight of delara and caleb doubling over on the pavement laughing about something caleb said.

liv's gazed travelled to the aussie beside her. oscar's shoulder brushed against hers and his thumb draw gentle shapes on the back of her hand. oscar, too, was smiling widely at his fellow aussies, not realising the look of complete adoration on his girlfriend's face.

the brunette girl took her time to memorise every detail of oscar's face. the curve of his nose, the wrinkles in the corner of his eyes, his sweet lips.

olivia didn't wait a second longer, the slight buzz of the alcohol in her system pushing away all her thoughts. her free hand reached up, fingers lightly grazing oscar's jaw grabbing his attention.

the australian now smiled at her, olivia could feel herself melting from his look alone. the short girl pushed herself onto her toes, wrapping her free hand around oscar's shoulders to balance herself. her lips crashed onto him.

olivia kissed him passionately. there was only a second of hesitation from oscar, as he processed what was happening, but as soon as he did he kissed her back with passion.

oscar's hands moved together to hold the short girl's waist. olivia was the first to pull out of the kiss, keeping contact by touching foreheads. oscar was the first to speak, "what was that for?" still smiling ear to ear.

"just wanted to show you how much i appreciate you." olivia breathed.

"well, in that case—" oscar cupped her cheeks and pulled her in for a sweet kiss. "i have to show you how much i appreciate you too."

olivia giggled, oscar peaked her cheek before pulling her into his chest. olivia buried herself in his warmth. oscar's gazed shifted back to delara and caleb, both aussies smirking in the couple's direction. oscar's cheeked tinted a light pink just as their uber arrived.

wow it feels like forever since i last wrote 😭 i'm trying to get back into the groove hopefully will be back to regular posting once my last exam is over! rlly short chapter and not my favourite but some drama from next chap!
