olivia squinted, rays of light passing between the gaps in her fingers as she held her hand up. the brunette groaned digging her face into his neck. immediately oscar's sweet scent flooded her nostrils and a smile cracked her lips.

olivia slowly turned her head, laying her cheek on oscar's shoulder as she stared up at the sleeping australian. warmth engulfed her body, the feeling of her bare skin on his as they lay entangled in his sheets.

oscar began to stir, the tip of the brunette's finger stopping where she had been running it along his jaw. there were a few rapid blinks and some confusion as oscar's eyes adjusted to the brightness but when he felt a hand caress his cheek a soft smile took over his lips.

"hi..." olivia's voice was low and timid.

the aussie didn't say anything. instead he gently pressed his lips onto olivia's forehead and then onto her lips. his mouth moved gently against hers, savouring every second of kissing her.

olivia pulls away, "wait, wait oscar. what are we doing?"

"what do you mean?" he hummed trying to kiss her again but failing. olivia pushed herself up to sit facing towards him.

"this." she motioned to them, "last night— last night was incredible but we were drunk and dancing at a party and we—"

"so you regret it." oscar's face fell and his jaw clenched trying to stop any sadness from showing.

"what? no oscar." the aussie didn't give her another look as he pushed the sheets off his body.

"no. it's fine. i get it. it was the alcohol last night. we were just caught up in the moment."

"oscar—" olivia scrambled to get out of bed.

"it's okay. i understan—"

"will you just shut up for a second and let me finish!" olivia wraps her arms around his waist, she kindly forced him to face her with his chin, "i'm scared oscar. i'm really fucking scared. last night was... magical and i'm scared because it felt so right. it feels so right. kissing you feels right. but you're my best friend, you're the most important person in my life and this is going to change—"

oscar cut her off. olivia couldn't help herself from melting against his lips. the kiss was gentle and soft. he pulled away, taking a deep breath and just admiring every inch of olivia's face being hit by the morning sun.

"who are you?" olivia tilted her head. oscar repeated the question.

"olivia."

"right, and who am i?"

"oscar."

"exactly," oscar's hands cupped olivia cheeks, "we're oscar and olivia. we're the same people we were yesterday and the day before that and the day before that. this hasn't changed anything."

"but what if it does?" olivia sighed. she wasn't lying, she truly didn't regret the events of the night before but she was still scared. scared she would lose the person she considered to be her whole world.

"what if it becomes something amazing." the pair went silent, just holding each other, "you won't ever lose me, if that's what you're worried about."

"you don't know that, os."

"i do, because i love you." olivia's lips parted. "i've loved you since we were 16, via."

"you love me?"
