I am sure I've never been more nervous in my life. I'm about to hold my daughter. What does she look like? How does she act? Is she quiet? Is she loud? Is she clingy? Or not? Will she recognise me? Or not? Will she like me? Or she won't? Will I be able to let her go home after? Or I'll want to keep her with me forever? How big is she?
I know I met her before but now I can really see her without being bothered by a terrible headache.
Oh God I'm scared.
I can hear Harry's voice. "Okay I hope you won't get a heart attack, okay? Not in front of her!"
I laugh at his attempts at a joke and they walk next to my bed. It's like the world stopped. Harry looks at her smiling and it's such a beautiful smile, the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. He is the most beautiful human I've ever seen my whole life. "She's awake" He says gently and places her in my arms.
Blonde hair, blue eyes. She's so big for only one week. She's dressed up in a blue fluffy jumper. She grabs my finger and I can't remember how to function. The machine makes an odd sound and I stare at it offended and Harry looks at it scared.
"Someone had to ruin it." I say and turn my attention to my girl again. I stare at her not knowing how to act. I hear Harry giggling. And I stare at the little human in my arms. She looks at me right in the eyes.
"Hi!" A gentle word, I could barely hear it myself. And she smiles. She actually smiles and I look at Harry who raised his eyebrows cutely. He doesn't know she can do that either.
I am completely in love. "I can't believe you're real" I say completely lost in her eyes. I'm sure she doesn't understand me but I don't care. I run my hand through her beautiful fluffy hair and she stretches in my arms. "You are so beautiful" I'm completely speechless.
I smile so wide that my cheeks hurt and I look at Harry. "How old is she?""One month old" I think about it.
I frown, something is weird. "Niall said you gave birth last week." I say and he shakes his head "He lied for me" he says and I look at Harry. Sadness replacing the happiness on his face. There is something he's not telling me. "What happened?" I feel guilty for not knowing. He sits down on the bed and takes Ines' hand smiling.
"She was very excited to come. So she came one month earlier. Didn't you, little angel?" He smiles at her and Ines looks at him. I look at them. I couldn't help but feel guilty. He went through so much and I wasn't there for him. He looks at me smiling. "Stop stressing about it. We're here now, I'm gonna explain to you later, okay?"
I smile, I'm gonna ask him later if he reads minds. I love them so much. I look at our daughter, the way she is enjoying the time she spends with us. This is just heaven. I look at Harry "Are you sure I didn't die?" He bursts into laughter.
"I'm definitely sure you didn't die." He says and I look back at Ines.
I look at her and realize I never had experience with babies. Everything is new to me. I never had a family. Now I have a family. I never had the love I have now. I never felt the way I feel now. Everything changed in my life. From the moment I laid my eyes on him everything changed. Even the world has other colors. My heart beats differently. I smile differently. I enjoy life in a way I never did. I changed. I don't know if he realised did. I was always afraid of change but this change happened in the best way and I haven't realized it until now. I was always afraid to trust people, but trusting him is the best thing that ever happened to me. I was always afraid of feelings but the feelings I feel with him are the best feelings ever. I always thought that the saying "She or He changed me" is the biggest lie in the world but he changed me. In the best way he could, without even realizing. I was woken up from my thoughts when Ines grabbed my bottom lip. I start laughing and Harry laughs too.
