I think the illness of the body can be very easily compared to the illness of the mind. Consider more severe illnesses - cancer, diabetes, malaria, etc. - the causes for these are often the same, if not very similar; so are the symptoms. And now look at the common cold - a seemingly infinite amount of causes and variations, with similar symptoms, yet symptoms hard to put into words and very different at the same time. And now look at the severe mental illnesses - ASPD, depression, autism, etc. - similar causes, similar symptoms. And now look at the common melancholy, the common frustration, the common sadness - a seemingly infinite variety of causes and symptoms; both very hard to know, and hard to explain.

And now I have caught the common cold.
