Chapter 72
Aria's POV:
The stores were busy, with lines out the door as we neared the closest shops. There was a group in front of us that was blocking the sidewalk.
Jason tapped one of the people in the group,
"Excuse me? You're blocking the sidewalk," He stated calmly but assertively.
"Or what?" The man turned around. He had on a white t-shirt, khaki pants and what looked like dress shoes from the 1960s. He got within an inch of his face.
"Hey man, I just wanted to walk on the sidewalk with my girlfriend." He says clearly. Did he just call me his girlfriend? I short-circuited for a moment trying to process it when the man bumped into Jason more, causing him to stumble backward.
"Hey, Jason. It's fine. Let's just go home." I tugged on his shirt. He walked and grabbed me gently.
"Yeah, I don't want you to see me fight." He then wrapped his arms around me.
