(A/N: second chapter just cause I have it ready. <3)
So from what I understand, Tony Gustavsson had been watching both Alycia and I after recruiting Cortnee to the Matildas. It also does help that both of us had been offered a place in the under 17 Matildas before. The only problem was that we couldn't go due to school and the fact that we were just starting with the Sydney FC and didn't want to miss out on the teams (and our) debut games at the time.
Tony said that if we accept, we would fly to Melbourne where we will meet the other Matildas and complete a 2 week training before a few friendlies then the Cup of Nations. He says that the friendlies aren't about winning, but about 'Winning a Player'. Cortnee says that's basically his way of saying he will be watching us play and train to decide if we're good enough to play in the world cup. Terrifying, I know. But what's even more terrifying? The fact that if accepted, in 3 days, Alycia and I will be flying out to meet the Matildas. Like, the actual Matildas. Sam Kerr, Hayley Raso, Alannah Kennedy, Mackenzie Arnold, Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley....EVERYONE. Well, except for the one and only Ellie Carpenter. Which is a shame, but also I don't know if I'd faint or scream if I saw her in person ... when I see her in person. The only consideration would be that if we went, we'd be missing the Sydney FC final game of the season...but that's one mistake we made before. We're not doing it again. Plus, our coach basically said we can go because it's great for both of us. We get training and get to play with the Matildas while Sydney FC gets two more players in the Matildas. Great Press.
I look at my best friend, seeing the excitement in her eyes before looking back at the well known coach and grinning. "Can't wait to see the team." I say, holding a hand out. He shakes it, grinning too before shaking Aly's hand too. "Can't wait to see you there."

3 days later
Coach let us leave training the day after the match after we had a team briefing where they announced Aly and I's departure and new opportunity. It's been completely surreal and even now, after spending a day packing and a day telling everyone I know, even now, standing in the airport and waiting for my flight to board, It feels like a dream.
I open my insta, immediately seeing a post from the Matildas account where they had created a game. There were multiple photos, each with a 'clue' about the new player joining to see if any of the fans could guess who it was before they announce it tomorrow. There were two posts, one for Alycia and one for me. The clues were simple. Where we were born, the year we were born, the age at which we started playing, the past clubs we've played in and which school we went to for high school. I could already see multiple tags of me on the post, but it's funny seeing the other guesses. "Plane to Melbourne now boarding." I stand, taking my carry-on and box of chocolates which I bought at the airport and follow Alycia to the boarding gate. They do the usual things and before we know it, the two of us are in our seats and on our way to Melbourne.
I fell asleep pretty early into the flight even though it was only about 1 hr and a half and soon, I'm shaken awake by an excited Alycia who had wild eyes and a wide grin on her face. "We're here! Finally, We....I...we get to see the Matildas in an hour." She mutters, clearly going into her own world. I push her lightly, yawning before speaking. "Calm down, bitch. If you say anything embarrassing when we get there, I'm gonna claim I don't know you." I say, standing and grabbing my carry-on while Alycia fumbles behind me. "Please, at least I'm excited cause we're meeting the whole team. You're gonna act exactly the same the moment we meet Ellie later on and your crush on her is gonna be super obvious." She teases, following behind as we exit the plane and walk through the airport. "Um, no I won't. By that time we'll be friends with everyone and I'm gonna have time to get used to the idea of meeting her. Unlike you who found out we're gonna meet the Tillies 3 days ago." I reply.
