I wake up still on the couch. The TV is off, telling me Ellie was awake to turn it off before sleeping. Which then brings my attention to the weight that sat beside me...well, actually... on top of me. I was now laying horizontal along the couch and had Ellie lying on my chest, fast asleep.

Our legs winding together and one of her arms around my torso, the other hanging off the couch. My arms are wrapped around her waist, keeping her on me and under the blanket that we had during the movie.

I smile to myself, realising how close we are as my fangirl brain jumps in joy. However, one thing stuck with me. Ellie was awake while I was asleep, yet she decided to stay and sleep on the couch, staying with me. She didn't go to her room, to the comfort of her bed. She didn't wake me up so we could both retire to our own rooms. No, she stayed on the couch and ended up being wrapped in my arms.

I sigh, closing my eyes to savour this moment. Who knows when it'll happen again. That's when she shifts, turning her head, making me open my eyes to find her looking at me. She looks absolutely adorable with her chin resting on my chest as she looks up at me. "Morning." She mutters, her raspy morning voice laced with sleep.

Not gonna lie, it was really, really, really hot. I shake off my nerves, and ignore the way I am slightly turned on, to grin back. "Morning." I say. She chuckles, moving her head so it's laying on my chest again as she lets out an adorable yawn. "What time is it?" She asks.

I lift my arm up, glancing at the watch I still had on because I never took it off when I fell asleep last night. "8:26." I say. She nods, nestling into my chest. This...makes me question so much. Maybe she does like me? I mean, friends don't do this...do they? Maybe they do. I don't know anymore. What is life?

I hear a snap of a photo and glance down to see Ellie holding her phone to the side with the camera on. "Oops?" She says, smiling as I laugh. "As long as you send that to me." I say. She nods, grinning up at me again. "Too cute not to take a photo." She says. "Even with my ugly bruised eye?" I ask. She looks at it, smiling. "You're still pretty with it." She says, leaning up and placing a light kiss on the side of my face. To say I was expecting that would be a lie. So I sit there, shocked as she gets up to get ready.

She laughs as she spots me still on the couch before typing into her phone. "Sonia says we can have the day off since we have to go collect your luggage today. And your boxes are arriving in the afternoon." She says. I nod, sitting up and stretching, my shirt riding up a little and exposing my stomach.

As I look at the girl, I notice her eyes glued to my stomach, making me smirk. "My eyes are up here, Romeo." I say, causing her to dart her eyes up as a blush sets on her cheeks. She clears her throat, turning to head to her room. "We can go out for breakfast. Be ready in 15!" She says, darting away and into her room.

I laugh to myself, picking up my own phone from the table and heading into my room. That's when I see multiple notifications on my screen. Swiping my phone open, I navigate to my messages app to read them.

Matildas star player Ellie Carpenter and newcomer Y/N Y/L/N spotted together in Lyon, having what seemingly is a romantic lunch together. Are the two a couple?

Yesterday during peak lunch hours, Matildas stars Ellie Carpenter and Y/N Y/L/N were spotted together in a small cafe in the heart of Lyon, France. This is where Carpenter plays for her club, Olympique Lyonnias. Carpenter is also a star defender in the Australian National team, The Matildas, which recently welcomed two new players, one of which was Y/L/N. The two have been seen becoming good friends both on and off field as seen through the Matildas' training videos, however it all seemed friendly.
