Waking up the next day with light streaming through the windows. Technically my first full day in Lyon. I swing my legs off the bed as I stand, stretching my limbs and walking out into the living room where I see Ellie already up. She's cooking something and it smells amazing. "Whatcha cookin?" I ask.She turns, grinning at me. "Pancakes." She says, smiling widely. I laugh, realising how much this girl loves the sugary food before I sit at the high chair at the kitchen island. I watch as the blonde bustles around the kitchen. Pulling out and putting back ingredients everywhere into cupboards or in the fridge.
Not long later, she turns around grinning widely with a plate of hot pancakes with maple syrup on top. "Breakfast." She says, placing it down in front of me with a fork. She joins me with her own plate, digging in immediately and chewing happily. "Am I going to wake up to this everyday? Or....?" I ask, taking a bite of my own food. "Nope! As long as you live here, we're taking turns." Ellie says, turning her head to look at me.
I notice her smirk as her eyes seemingly trail down my frame, scanning my body. It makes me nervous as I cross my legs, not sure what to do. "You look good in my clothes." She says, repeating what she said yesterday. "Even better with my name on your back." She adds, smirking as she meets my eye. I feel a hot blush rise on my cheeks as I laugh. "I mean, it is comfortable." I say, shrugging as I turn back to my own food, trying to ignore her hot gaze on me.
At this point, I'll admit, there's a lot of shameless flirting. At the same time, I have no idea if it's friendly flirting, or an actual thing. Either way, however, I'm relishing in the fact Ellie Carpenter is next to me, living with me and flirting with me.
A few beats later, Ellie's phone pings with a message and she lifts it from the table to glance at it. "We've got to get to the club at 10:00am." She says, making me glance at the clock on the wall. It reads 8:45am, telling me we have a bit of time. "The others are already there since training started at 8:30, but we have a pass cause you're 'new' to the club." She says, using quotation marks cause we know I'm not actually in the club. Not yet at least.
"We can leave at 9:30 to drive there. We've got to make sure you have a bit of time to speak to the coach." She adds, standing to place her plate in the sink, rinsing it and putting it into the dishwasher. She grins at me, putting her phone into her pocket. She's wearing a simple T-shirt and shorts that she slept in. "See ya in a bit." She says, winking before exiting the room.
I follow not that long later, going into my own room before walking out again, remembering my lack of clothes. I walk to Ellie's room and knock on the door. "Come in." I hear her say, taking the signal to open the door. "Hey Els, I don't have anything to wea..." I trail off as I spot the girl, in the middle of changing. Her jersey shorts are on, but she's only in a sports bra as she rummages through her drawer for a shirt.
I trail my eyes up her frame. From the smooth skin on her calves, to her thighs, then her fairly muscular back which only has the back cross of the bra covering it. I clear my throat as she turns around, catching me staring as I drag my eyes away, with great effort may I add. "I- uh- have no clothes yet. My suitcase is still...still not here." I say, leaving my eyes to stare at the ground. I can't lie, she looks good. I try to ignore the butterflies in my stomach as I hear her walk around before I see a pair of feet stop in front of me.
I feel a finger under my chin, lifting my head up to meet her eyes. The blue eyes I've grown so attached to in this short period of time. She's fully clothed now, but the smirk on her face tells me she knows why I'm acting the way I am. Instead of saying anything, She places clothes into my hands and lets her other hand drop from my face.
She stares at me for a second, making me swallow from how dry my throat has become. "You're cute when you're flustered." She says quietly before turning, picking up some things and heading for the door. "Get changed, we're gonna be late." She says before closing the door, leaving me in her room.
