Rose POV
"So how was your sleepover?" My mum asked.
"It was good. We had a great time and did what usual girls do at sleepovers." It was good I had the worlds best first kiss anyone could ever ask for. Isaiah is one hell of a kisser.
"Anything specific?" She shrugged a little.
"Face masks, painted our nails, gossiped. You know the usual." I replied.
"Was that boy there?"
"He lives there mum. Of course he was there." I sighed.
"And what of his parents? Do they know that he assaults you? I hope they were there to make sure he didn't do anything." She said.
"What? No mum they have a life. They weren't there to coddle anyone. Especially me. If it makes you feel any better he didn't even leave his room the whole night."
"Rose, you are my baby. I don't want anything to happen to you." She sighed.
"Nothing will, mum. Nothing will ever happen to me and whatever you're thinking about Isaiah isn't true. He's not what you think of him at all." I argued.
"He literally kidnapped you, Rose. You came home sobbing because he took you into the woods and wouldn't let you do. Elodie had to tell me all of this because you never did." My mum shouted.
"Elodie hates her brother and didn't listen to me. No one does." I said in frustration. "I tried telling you it was fine, I'm fine. Why can't you just listen to me?"
"Is he manipulating you? Is he telling you to say all of this? Your father and I can get you help. We can go to the alpha and get this all sorted." She turned soft.
"He isn't what you think, mum." I yelled.
"Rose." My dad came to us. "Stop shouting at your mother."
"She isn't listening to me, dad. No one's listening to me. You treat me like I'm some china doll and if you don't keep me close I'll venture off and break. Well I'm not. I'm not some little thing you can control. If anyone's manipulating me it's you guys. Especially mum, she keeps on putting these ridiculous accusations out there, calling Isaiah things that he isn't. You keep putting words in to my mouth, I know what I know and I'm okay with that. So why can't you listen to me and trust that I'm okay."
"You've never spoken to me like this. Is he the reason you're being like this! What is happening to you?" She asked in horror.
"You mum. You happened. You don't know Isaiah, you know nothing about him at all. If anything's happened to me, it's you. You're making all these stupid assumptions and it's not fair. You don't know him at all and those people had it coming. So whatever you think of him, change it because it's wrong."
"We're only trying to look out for you. He kidnapped you for Christ sake."
"How many times do I have to say he didn't kidnap me?" I laughed humourlessly. "If I didn't want to go with him I wouldn't of. Okay? Can you stop talking about this."
"Rose." My dad sighed deeply. "Your mum and I know what boys like him are like. He only wants one thing and will discard you like you're nothing. We're only trying to look out for you."
"We barely talk." I lied. "I don't know what he wants from me and I guess I'll never know."
"So how do you know what he's like and we don't. If you barely talk then please enlighten me on how you could possibly know him and that he's not a bad person. All I've seen of that boy is bad, no good comes from boys like him." My mum stated.
"I just do, okay. Can you stop questioning me please. I'm tired of this constantly. I'm okay and I'm safe. Is there anything else you'd like to hear because I'm sure all you care about it the well-being of your child and I'm doing fine. The only thing bothering me is you two. I'm friends with his sister so I'm going to be around him."
"We just want you to be careful. Promise us you'll be careful." My mum sighed.
"Mum I've been looking after myself for ages now. I'll be okay, I always am. I've not been hurt so far and I don't think I will be. We barely see each other at school and it's not often we see each other. I'm more than okay." I told her.
"Okay." She sighed again but nodded. I gave a short nod as well and started up the stairs. "Rose, wait."
I turned to look at her. A glint in her eyes telling me she was going to say something I won't like. My mum has a way with words and sometimes it's a bad way of going about stuff. She gets this look in her eyes whenever she wants to carry on with a 'conversation'.
"You said you barely see him. So why do you leave your window open every night to let him in?" She asked.
I stand and blink at her. "That's not why I leave my window open."
"I'm sure it's not. I was a teenager once too, Rose. Don't think I don't know your little tricks. I know them all, so the next time you sneak him in, I'll be sure to inform the alpha and have him removed from the pack."
"You let that boy in to my house?" My dad glared at me.
"Fuck my life. You two are so overbearing. If you need anything you'd know nothing happened. Just leave me alone." I shout and run to my room. I slam the door shut and lay on my bed.
Why do they feel the need to be like this? I don't want to keep secrets from them but when they think of Isaiah that way, it doesn't sit right with me. I think I could possibly be the only person to see a side to that boy that no one else would ever see. That no one has ever seen.
I like that soft side to him. The comfort and protection I feel from him. Being in his arms is a different feeling on a whole other level. Being around him now makes me feel like I can properly be myself. With my parents I can't talk to them, I can't do anything because they get like this. Once they have an opinion on someone it stays that way and it doesn't change.
A knock sounds at my door but I ignore it. It opens and I look up to see my dad coming in. He sits on my bed with a soft sigh.
"Rose, your mum is just trying to look out for you. It's hard to think of someone doing good when all they've shown is bad. You're trying to make new friends and that's great. We just think that befriending Isaiah might not be a good idea."
"It's not like that dad. I told you I don't know what he wants from me."
"Are you seeing him a little more than a friend?" He asked.
"Dad!" I look at him in shock.
"I'm serious, Rose. I understand you're not a little girl anymore. Things are changing, you're growing up so fast and we're worried. Especially if it's a boy like Isaiah."
"Dad, I can look after myself. I can get myself out of danger if I need it. Isaiah isn't a danger to me, he's so much different from the other boys. They're so rowdy and, and horny. Isaiah doesn't even think about that. I'm serious when I say I don't know what he wants from me. But I do know he's better than anyone else."
"My love, if you're sure about it then there's not much your nothing and I can do. Your happiness makes us happy and that's all we want for you. I'll talk to your mum and make sure she doesn't mention it anymore. But make sure you're safe, make sure if he hurts you in any way you come straight to us, okay. We trust you, Rose, we know you make some good judgements."
"Thanks dad." I whisper lightly.
"Right, what do you want for dinner? And are we expecting a visitor by any chance?"
"Uh, fajitas sound good. And I don't think I will be expecting anyone." And just as I said that, Isaiah showed up at my window. My dad saw him before he could duck down and hide.
"Invite him in. And use the front door from now on please." My dad said before getting up.
"Okay." I nodded, a smile making its way to my lips.
Hope your enjoying so far. Let me know what you think in the comments.
