Isaiah POV
It took a couple hours for Rose to let go of me after the morning we had. Once she calmed down she gave me a birthday present which, as bad as it sounds, I wasn't excited for. All I want to do is lay in bed with her, keep her and our baby close to me where I know they're safe. Protected in my room, more so in my arms.
"I really hope you like it. Elodie helped me pick it out. You seem to have everything, so I wasn't sure what to get you." She smiled.
"Whatever it is, I'm sure I'll love it." I tell her.
I pull apart the wrapping paper and set it beside me. A box with a picture on it appears making me frown a little not knowing what it is.
"I must admit I've already tampered with it a bit so I could set it all up." Rose stated.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Open it and you'll find out."
I roll my eyes and open the box to pull out something. It has a black screen with a clear frame surrounding it. I turn it around to find a white back with a couple little buttons, so I press it and turn it around. The screen lights up with what I know is an ultrasound image, only it moves a little and a little arm waves after a few seconds.
Then words pop up saying, 'hi daddy'. Tears rim my eyes knowing this is the best present anyone has ever given me. Not the image, Rose giving me a family. The build up of something good, something that's ours and no one can take that.
"Do you like it?" Rose whispers.
"Sunshine I absolutely love it." I look at her and lean over to kiss her. "When did you go for the scan?"
"I had it done the other day. El and Yas came with me, I had a private appointment so I could hopefully get something cute like this. I know I should've spoken to you about it first, but the idea came to me and I just had to do it. Elodie saw this online and shared it with me and I just had to do it."
"You don't have to explain yourself to me, sunshine. I really love it." I tell her and look down at the picture again seeing our baby wave it's arm at me. "Did you find out the gender?"
"I wouldn't do that without you, Isaiah. That's something for us, not for me and my friends." She said.
"It's okay. I wouldn't have been mad if you did. I'm sure you're dying to know." I reassure her.
"I am, but this is our family. Our little circle; I'm not finding out without you." Rose smiled softly. "Although she did say baby was in a good place to find out the gender so hopefully at the next appointment in a few days we'll be able to find out. Unless you want to be surprised when the baby is actually here."
"No, I want to know. To stop calling it, well, an it. Think of names as well. Maybe name the baby and start getting some personalised things for it."
"Yeah, sounds perfect. Have you got any names in mind?" She asks.
"I do. But I don't think you'd like them."
"You won't know unless you tell me."
"Okay. For a boy, I really like Enzo. For a middle name maybe our dads' names. Enzo Alec Graham. For a girl I was thinking Lilith. Lilith Rose." I look at her unexpectedly. Tears rim Rose's eyes as she looks back at me.
"If we don't use them names I'm going to flip my shit. Isaiah they are beautiful names and I can't wait to name our baby either one." Rose says.
"You like them?"
"I love them. Although I think Yas and El will be upset we didn't use either of their names as a middle name."
"I don't care." I shrug. "This is our baby and we'll name it whatever you want. No one is going to change that. I can't wait to meet it. I really can't."
"Not long now. Only a few more weeks." Rose smiled at me. We both place a hand on her belly and lay back as well feel the baby kick. "It's still so weird feeling the baby kick."
"I bet." I chuckle lightly.
"I honestly can't wait to hold our baby. I know it's only a couple weeks more, but I just want to have him or her with us. In our arms, no matter how tired we are or how much they cry. I want that now more than anything."
"I know, sunshine. I want that as well. More than I could ever say. But good things come to those who wait. And we've waited this long, what's a couple more weeks?" I smile.
"Yeah. Just a few more weeks." Rose smiles back.
"So, any names yet?" My dad asks as we sit around the table and eating dinner.
"We've spoke about it." Rose replies. "We have some picked out and I can imagine our child having that name. It's perfect. However we have decided not to tell anyone until the baby is here."
"As long as it's a girl and has my name in hers, I don't care." Elodie jokes.
We all laugh at her. "As much as I'd love your niece to have your name as in hers, we haven't chosen that. All I can say is that we love the names we've picked and it's most likely what we'll choose. For both a boy or a girl, whichever we're blessed with." I tell her.
"Damn." Elodie mutters with a playful smile.
"Whatever you've chosen I'm sure it's beautiful." My mum says. "I know when I saw the name Elodie I fell in love with it. When we were pregnant with you I was so sure we were having a girl. But then you popped out and your dad said we needed to pick out a name. I knew Isaiah was it."
"Isaiah picked out the names. I'm so sure of them. One boy, one girl. No matter a son or a daughter, I know either name will be perfect." Rose says.
