Rose POV
I wake up with a frown on my face. I quickly rush to my bathroom willing the bile doesn't come out on the floor. My mum will not be happy. Luckily I manage to get to the toilet throwing up last nights dinner.
"You okay, sweetheart?" My dad stood by the door. For a solid five minutes I could answer him from the continuous vomiting. He kneeled next to me holding my hair back and rubbing my back. "Let it all out, kiddo."
Tears streamed down my cheeks hating the feel of being sick. Never have and I certainly never will. After what felt like forever, I stopped but kept close to the toilet not knowing if I'd go again.
"Are you okay?" My dad asked again, concern all over his face.
"I am now." I whispered. My throat sore and my stomach empty. Great, now I'm hungry.
"Alright. Get back in to bed. You're not going to school today. Isaiah is also worried about low iron and after this, I agree. I'll get you a doctors appointment alright."
"That's not necessary, dad. I'm honestly okay now." I told him.
"Don't make me call Isaiah to keep her you here today. You've been sick, it could be contagious and you don't want to give it to anyone else."
"Don't be silly dad. It doesn't take much for wolves to get sick."
"So why are you? Hmm, what's made you sick?" He questioned me.
"I don't know." I sighed. I flushed the toilet and stood up. Both my dad and I walking back to my bedroom. My mum stood there with a glare on her face.
"You're pregnant." She spat out.
"Don't be stupid, mum." I roll my eyes and sit on my bed.
"I gave them protection, Rita. They've been careful." My dad told her.
"Have they? Then why does she wreak of that beast."
"I smell of him because he's my boyfriend. I'm with him more than anyone, so yes I'll smell of him. That doesn't mean I'm pregnant." I snap.
"How can you be so sure?" She asked.
"Fine, get a test. I'll prove to you that I'm not. Heaven forbid you believe anything I say." I reply.
"You don't have to, Rose. Your mum is being ridiculous." My dad sighed.
"I'll do anything to prove to her that she's wrong." I tell him. My mum leaves the room and comes back a minute later with a pregnancy test in her hand.
"I knew this would happen sooner or later so I got some after you started dating, him." My mum told me.
"Don't say it like you're concerned. You can't even say his name and be happy for your own daughter so don't even bother to try and be concerned." I tell her. I take the test and go in to the bathroom. Following the instructions, I do what I need to do then go back out to my parents.
"This is silly, Rita. She's seventeen for fuck sake."
"And we're 35." My mum answered. My dad sighed and sat on my bed where I sat with him.
"Three minutes and I'll prove to you that you're being stupid." I say and lay back.
We all sat in silence. For some reason unknown to me my mum likes to think she's always right when she's not. Like now for instance, like the time we had an argument because she gave it a month before Isaiah broke my heart and moved on to someone else. It's been two months and he's still very much with me. I can never understand that woman and I don't think I ever will.
"Take a look, Rose." My mum said. I rolled my eyes and sat up grabbing the test from my bedside table. Looking at it, I gasp in shock. It's impossible.
"I told you." My mum cheered.
"No you're not. It's negative." I showed her the test. A frown settled on her face as she looked at it. "I told you. Now can you please leave my room?" I asked throwing the test in the bin next to my bed.
Letting out a deep huff, my mum left the room while my dad sighed. "I'm sorry she made you do that, sweetheart. It wasn't necessary."
"I just want to be alone right now, dad." I muttered and snuggled in to my bed. He got up and kissed my head before leaving my room closing the door behind him.
Tears brimmed my eyes from so much happening. The overwhelming feeling of it. I don't understand why my mum is like that. I feel humiliated all because she must be right. Why couldn't she just take my word for it? Surely I'd know if I'm pregnant or not.
Sitting up, I hang my head still feeling a little nauseous. Is it all the crap I've eaten in the last week? Too much sugar in my system and my body doesn't know how to handle it so it's making me sick. I have no idea. I need Isaiah. Grabbing my phone, I scroll through my contacts landing on his name.
"Hey, sunshine. You okay?" He answered.
"Hi, I'm okay. Been better but what can you do." I laughed a little.
"What's wrong?" Concern laced his voice.
"You know, the usual. I threw up this morning and my mum instantly thought I was pregnant." I told him.
"By the sound of things the test was negative, because you know we use protection. But it also sounds like you're disappointed."
"I don't know." I sighed deeply. "I'm glad I'm not, we're still young and in school. We have a lot going for us."
"But." Isaiah said.
"But would it of been the worst thing in the world?" I asked. "Not that I am, I proved my mum wrong and took a test it came back negative. I would very much like to send you a picture of my victory."
"Please do. I wish I could've seen your mums face." Isaiah chuckled.
"It was humiliation, babe. She brought some before we even started having sex because she and I quote, knew this was going to happen."
"Well you did eat a shit ton of sweets a couple days ago. My guess is that you have sugar overload." He stated.
"Yeah that's my guess as well. I feel like such a pig lately." I muttered as I leaned down and grabbed the pregnancy test from the bin. "I just can't seem to stop stuffing my face and my mums crappy cook-," I started saying but stopped. My eyes widening at what I'm seeing.
"Rose? Sunshine are you okay?" Isaiah's voice brought me out of my head. Bile rose in my throat again. "Rose can you say something?"
"M-my mums calling me. I have to go." I whispered and hung up the phone. My heart pounding in my chest not believing my eyes. The vibrations of my phone had me looking away but I couldn't bring myself to answer Isaiah's call.
The once negative test now in my hand positive.
