A/N: Jordan still plays for Arsenal in this story because I'm stupid as shit and fucked up the timeline👍
-------------------"Girls!" Jonas called, you trailing behind him. "Come here!"
"Girls, this is Y/N. She's 16. Do you wanna introduce yourself, Y/N?"
You awkwardly waved at the older women, intimidated from being in the presence of Soccer royalty. "Hi, I'm Y/N Mewis... I'm from the US, and I play as a Striker."
A chorus of 'hi's' sounded as Captain England shook your hand. "Hi Y/N, I'm Leah."
"Uh- hi," you blinked. "It's nice to- it's nice to meet you."
She smiled at you kindly as the rest of the girls stepped forward to introduce themselves. You were going to shit your pants.
-------------
"So, Y/N," Jonas said, drumming his fingers on his desk. "You're going to be living with Leah, Jordan, and Katie. Sound good?"
You stared at him blankly. "I might have a heart attack. Or two."
He chuckled. "You'll be fiiiine... you're only going to be living with some of London's finest footballers, don't worry about it."
"Right," you squeaked. "Just fine."
"Your stuff's already been sent to the flat, and I've called a cab for you," Jonas informed you, slipping his phone into his coat pocket. "We'll be posting your arrival on the Arsenal WFC Instagram and Twitter pages later today. We look forward to having you play for us, Y/N."
You thanked him, leaving the Arsenal Manager's office as you contemplated what Jonas had said. Shit, you thought. I'm going to be living with London's best.
--------------
"This is your room," Jordan said, turning on the lights. "Feel free to customize it as you like."
"Thanks," you mumbled, placing a few boxes in front of the bed. You hadn't brought much with you, as many of the things you owned weren't all that important. "Rules- ?"
Jordan smiled kindly at you. "Nah, this is your flat as much as it is ours. If you want to have dinner with us, just come down and we'll fix you a plate, okay? We want you to feel comfortable here."
Mumbling another thanks, you laid down on the bed as the English player closed the door. Should you have fought the sleep? Yes. But the jetlag was awful, and you were exhausted. You'd fix your sleep schedule another day.
-------------
You groaned, turning in your phone. 4:12 AM. Well, could have been worse. You'd knocked out around 2:30 yesterday afternoon, so there was no way you were going back to sleep. Deciding to get started on unpacking, you grabbed your sparring bag, shoving it in the closet.
As you began to hang up clothes, you couldn't help but wonder what you were doing here. You were only 16, fresh out of high school as you'd been smart enough to graduate early. Maybe it was because of your older sisters. Unlikely, but not impossible. The team didn't seem to realize you shared a last name with 2 USWNT Midfielders, so that probably wasn't it.
As you debated the possible reasons for your signing, a knock sounded at your door.
"It's open!" You called, voice rough and deep from your 12 hour slumber.
Katie opened the door, slipping through it with a smile. "Hi, Y/N. You mind if I hang out 'ere? I'm a bit bored."
Shaking your head, you gestured to the bed as you picked up another hoodie.
"So, Y/N," Katie began. "How's it feel to sign for Arsenal at 16?"
You shrugged. "It's pretty good. I'm excited, even though I feel like I'm going to shit my pants every time I look at one of you."
Katie laughed lightly. "You'll get used to it."
"I'm just confused as to why Jonas would sign me," you continued. "Why would he choose to sign me? I literally just got out of high school."
The ROI captain hummed thoughtfully. "Jonas wouldn't sign you if you weren't amazing. I wouldn't worry about it."
You nodded hesitantly. "Does- um, does my last name sound familiar to you at all?"
"Yeah, a little bit," the Defender said. "I was actually gonna ask ya'."
"You've played my older sisters before," you stated, closing the closet door before prying open another box. "Do the names Kristie and Sam Mewis ring a bell?"
"Yes!" Katie snapped her fingers. "That's where I've heard it before. Don't worry though, Jonas wouldn't sign you just because you're related to them. He signs purely based on talent and potential. Just show him you have what it takes, and he won't let you go anytime soon."
"Right," you said, unconvinced. "Okay."
"Of course, you need any help?"
"I'm good, thanks."
The two of you fell into a comfortable silence, Katie scrolling through something on her phone as you finished setting up your desk. Hopefully, you'd become good friends with the Arsenal girls, or it'd make your 3 seasons there pretty awkward.
