"Lauryn," you stated, voice serious. "Do you... no, nevermind, it's nothin'."

She placed her textbook down, sending you a glare that absolutely made you shrink down to your shoes. "No, what were young going to say? And don't tell me it's not inportant."

You awkwardly tried to scratch the itch that was underneath your wrist brace. "I was just thinkin' if you... like, when you wanted to tell our families 'bout us. Like, if you don't want to, it's okay, I wa-"

"You can tell your family if they won't tell, but I don't know if I want to tell Katie yet," she shifted uncomfortably. "Who knows how she'll react?"

You nodded instantly. "I think I should tell Kristie while she's 'ere. It doesn't feel right telling her over the phone."

"Alright, love," Lauryn smiled, blowing you a kiss. "You doing it now?"

"Yeah."

"Good luck, love yous."

"Love you too."

Hanging up with your girlfriend, you texted your older sister with the context that you had something important to tell her.

"Baby sis, what's up?" The Midfielder questioned, closing the door behind her. "You're never serious. Spill the beans."

You swallowed, hesitating momentarily before clearing your throat. "I'm- you can't tell anyone what I'm 'bout to tell you. Nobody."

She raised an eyebrow, silently gesturing for you to continue.

You took a deep breath. "I'm seeing someone."

Kristie's face broke out into a grin. "That's great! Who?"

You averted your gaze to the floor. "Lauryn."

Your older sister blinked. "Who?"

"Lauryn... McCabe."

"Ohhh," Kristie nodded. "You're worried about what Katie's gonna say, aren't you?"

"Yeah," you agreed, struggling to meet her eyes. "And what... you and Sam might say."

She instantly strolled over, wrapping her arms around you in a gentle but comforting hug. "If you love her, and she loves you, then Sam and I will support you no matter what. And Katie cares about you too much, she won't be mad."

You leaned into her touch. "Thanks, Kristie."

"Absolutely."

You raised your fist, preparing to knock after glancing back at Jordan, the Englishwomen giving you an encouraging smile.

"Hey, Y/N," Rose greeted as she pulled the door open, confused. "You here for Sam?"

You nodded, nervously fiddling with your fingers.

Despite Kristie's genuine words, you couldn't help but feel scared. While the three of you may have been related, Sam was an entirely different person.

"Come on, then," Rose gestured, pulling you inside by your perfectly functioning right arm. "I'll be in my room if you need me."

Sam looked up from her phone, a quizzical smile appearing on her face. "Hey, Mr. Hothead, what's up?"

Your fingers twitched, a tell-tale sign that something was up.

"C'mon, tell me what's wrong." Sam patted the spot to her.

You tentatively took a seat before deciding to just rip the band-aid off.

"I'm seein' someone," you blurted. "It'sLaurynMcCabeandI'mscaredofwhatyouandKatiearegonnasayandIdon'twantyoutohatemeand-"

"Woahh, slow down Speedy," the Midfielder instructed, placing a hand over your shaking one. "I'm glad you found someone, but who?"

"It's- uh- she- I'm-" you stumbled over your own words, your sister's concerned gaze growing stronger by the second. "Lauryn McCabe!"

"Oh, Katie's sister?" The Tower of Power asked. "I wouldn't worry about what Katie has to say, you're like... her favorite person ever."

"So... you're okay with it?" You questioned tentatively.

"Of course! If you love her and she loves you, what do I have to complain about?"

"You're the best, Sammy Stromboli."

"I know."

----------------

"How'd it go?" Jordan asked as you slipped I the passenger seat.

"Good," you responded, buckling your seatbelt. "Thanks for driving me. And waiting."

"Happy to help," she smiled. "I don't mean to pry, but everything alright?"

"Perfect."

----------------

"How'd it go, love?" Lauryn questioned, voice sounding robotic on the phone.

"All's well," you replied. "Sam and Kristie are happy and seem to think that your sister won't murder me when she finds out."

"Yeah," Lauryn agreed. "Katie'll probably murder me."

Just then, said Republic of Ireland captain stuck her head through the door. "Why would I murder you, Lauryn? What did you do?"

It was silent for a moment.

Your girlfriend drew in a breath, apparently deciding it was now or never. "Y/N and I are dating."

Katie choked on her own spit, bending over and coughing.

"What?" She wheezed. "My own roommate? Lauryn!"

"Sorry," the U17 player apologized. "She's hot."

You snickered, both McCabes paying you no mind.

"Are you two happy?" The Defender glanced at the both of you.

"Yes."

Katie began nodding. "Then I'm happy. But, Lauryn? If you hurt Y/N, I'll hurt yo—"

"Katie!" She huffed, exasperated. "I'm your sister, not Y/N! Why are you giving me the shovel talk?"

"Oh," your fellow Gunner sounded embarrassed before awkwardly turning to you. "Lauryn, if you hurt Y/N— I mean, Y/N, if you hurt Lauryn, I'll... ehm—"

"Oh, for goodness sake!"
