Ship: Felix / Chan
Words: 1,731
Summary: Felix should be happy, but he simply can't feel happiness when Chan has turned his back to him.
At that, he physically shuts his eyes for a few seconds; his mind is driving him insane. Why can't he just stop thinking about Chan? Why is that worrying him so much?---
Felix stares down at his phone. It's dry and empty. No new notifications from the few apps he uses to message people, just a few likes from Instagram.
Technically, his phone is filled with people wanting to talk to him. But he just keeps expecting something. Someone. That's why it seems dry to him.
He lets out an annoyed breath and places his phone on his nightstand, the clap of the wooden table echoing in the small bedroom – he has to get ready now.
He isn't hungry yet, he might eat something at work. For now, he's going to freshen up and wear something nice.
He hates how he keeps expecting Chan to text him. How his heart feels number whenever they fight. He hates it, because no one else can make him feel that way, and he doesn't know how to deal with it.
Felix tries to work longer than usual, starts new tasks no one asked him to – simply to avoid his feelings to submerge again. Not even listening to music calms his thoughts down.
He and Chan should be over, he knows it, but he can't fucking help to admit it.
He doesn't even know how to explain this, his lungs just feel so heavy, he feels a weight hanging on his shoulders – as if it's his fault that he and Chan are not talking. As if the whole world is pointing the finger at him.
But it really wasn't his fault, and he has no intention to text him first.
He saves the document he was working on and clicks at the button to turn off his computer, seeing that it's 6 pm. He looks up and notices almost all of his coworkers left too.
Felix is constantly surrounded by people, he has friends and is often invited to meet-ups, he is successful in his job; he is popular. He is not necessarily rich, but can afford a good and healthy lifestyle.
Felix should be happy, but he simply can't feel happiness when Chan has turned his back on him.
At that, he physically shuts his eyes for a few seconds; his mind is driving him insane. Why can't he just stop thinking about Chan? Why is that worrying him so much?
"Aren't you friends with Chan sunbaenim?"
Felix hastily turns around, locking eyes with his coworker Seungmin who's standing a desk behind him.
"Uh, yeah. Why?"
He and Chan were like friends with benefits; but he isn't going to explain that to a coworker.
"I see" Seungmin replies calmly, as he gathers his stuff into his bag. "I asked him about you, but he told me you don't talk together anymore."
Felix's stomach twists, his lungs feel like squeezing. He tries to not make it sound as dramatic as it should, "he was the one who stopped talking to me"
"He was?"
Felix nods, not really in the mood to word his thoughts and feelings and emotions and whatever is hanging in his chest to his innocent coworker. He gathers his stuff too and checks the time on his phone, keeping in mind that he still hasn't gotten that notif he is looking for. His heart continues to hang on stripes.
