Ship: Jeongin / Hyunjin

Words: 1,553

Summary: "You're so sweet. Always trying to apologise and not make me feel bad. You know how cute it is?" Hyunjin flutters his lashes excitedly as he continues to stare at him. Jeongin feels like he can't breathe.

Jeongin is attempting his third origami, when Hyunjin pokes his foot with his own.

"What?" he says, looking up, and bringing his lips into a line when he sees Hyunjin ogling at him with heart-eyes. "What, hyung?"

"You're so cute, you know that?" he squeals, poking the younger again. Jeongin scoffs and shakes his head. Hears Hyunjin laugh at his reaction when he goes back to his origami. Hyunjin always genuinely laughs at his reactions, but he can only guess why. He doesn't necessarily believe himself to be that cute, but he understands the obsession with it? Kind of. Hyunjin is still a mystery to him.

The butterfly in his hands still looks bad. Jeongin doesn't understand why simple instructions always turn out to be complicated. He throws the ruined paper in Hyunjin's direction.

"Giving up?"

"No"

"But I can help my baby"

"I am not your baby"

"That's what babies say", he deadpans, grabbing a new sheet of coloured paper from his bag. The July sun is behind him, forming a halo around his head. Jeongin has to squint his eyes to look at him properly.

"Let hyung explain it to you again. Life is too miserable to give up this easily". He is serious when he says it, poking his tongue against his cheek when he starts to fold the corners. Jeongin doesn't reply, just continues to watch his hands. His gaze wanders to his face quickly after. Hyunjin has never looked imperfect in his entire life. Jeongin isn't jealous, just curious, about how this kind of human can exist.

His brain doesn't alert him when Hyunjin meets his eyes, and catches him staring. Only starts to flush hard and warm when it suddenly hits him. He doesn't know why that happens, but it's frequent now. The older winks at him, but continues to finish the butterfly.

"Here, Innie" he hands it over to him, and it's done way better. Almost doesn't look handmade. When Jeongin glances up, Hyunjin is still looking at him. "What do you wanna learn next?"

He sighs, "I don't know...if this was beginner level then it's better to leave it". Hyunjin catches on the sad tone of his voice, and pouts.

"How about a paper plane! Those are cool to make too"

The younger hums as Hyunjin already takes out a new, bigger paper. He stands up from where he was sitting across from him, and shakes some grass strands away from his butt. Then sits down next to him, so that they're facing the same direction.

"The cool thing about paper aeroplanes is that you can model them how you want. You can give it stylish wings, for example"
