Four months later...

Omniscient POV

Nothing and no one could've prepared Y/n for the days she'd had ahead. April was in full swing and it was two weeks after her and Normani's wedding anniversary. In addition to that whirlwind, it seemed as if the universe was trying to put her through the wringer these past few days.

Normani's morning sickness returned out of nowhere with a vengeance. She could barely keep anything down without throwing it right back up. This had been going on for days. The only thing she could eat was soup broth, which after the second bowl it becomes very disgusting. In addition to that, she could smell any and everything, which only made her nausea worse.

Sebastian was in full swing of standardized testing at the Brynwood Excelsior Academy. He was doing great in school, one of the best in his class, and wanted to do his best on these exams. The teachers were also pressing how important these exams were for the students' success. Because of this, they were sending home a bit more homework to prepare the students for these exams.

Ironically, this particular week was the last week before the exams began and Sebastian was obviously nervous. He started to make small mistakes on his assignments he usually wouldn't make and gave up much easier than he usually would. It was heartbreaking for Y/n to watch, especially remembering how much she struggled with test anxiety in school.

If struggling to keep Normani healthy and keep Sebastian on track wasn't enough, Y/n had developed a full blown migraine and a really bad cold. Her body was running on empty and she was truthfully exhausted. Nevertheless, it was the weekend and it was on her to keep everything afloat while Normani tried to rest. She wore masks while in the house to keep everyone from getting sick, kept the twins occupied with their new favorite show, The Backyardigans, and made sure to check in on Sebastian.

"Do you wanna try to eat something baby? I don't like the idea of you just not eating at all." she peeked into their bedroom to see a sick Normani.

"No, I'm not hungry." she groaned out. "I'll be fine. I can eat later."

"Are you sure?" Y/n checked her Apple Watch. She was waiting for a call from the pharmacy to pickup Normani's nausea prescription any minute now. It was three days behind.

"Yeah I..." Mani rolled over to empty her stomach into the trash can. Y/n rushed over to her side and rubbed her back. She brought her wife into a side hug when she heard sniffles coming from her.

"I know baby, I know. Your medicine will be ready soon." she placed a kiss on the side of her head and helped her lay back. Sitting beside her on the bed, Y/n began to rub Normani's stomach which seemed to soothe her more than she thought. Normani's eyes fluttered closed and she drifted off to sleep within five minutes. Y/n turned on their room fan, aware of how hot she gets while they sleep, and kissed her belly before kissing her forehead. She quietly left the room and went to go check on her son.

Y/n knocked before she entered Sebastian's room. When she heard a little voice say 'come in' she peeked into his room.

"How's it going buddy?"

"Not good. I don't get it." Sebastian propped his head up on his right hand as he wrote with his left. Y/n came in and sat beside him at his desk.

"Lemme see it. Maybe I can help you like last time."

"Yes please!" Sebastian's face lit right up. He passed Y/n the piece of paper and scooted his chair closer to her. Y/n looked over the paper and saw that they had begun to add double and triple digit numbers together. The first four questions were completed and correct, they were numbers with zeros at the end. She noticed he began to struggle when the number couldn't add right together. "See? It's impossible!"
