Omniscient POV

While the two lovebirds were enjoying each other's company at the beach, Y/n was planning a surprise for Normani. She hadn't yet met Normani's parents in person. They've had several facetime calls, creating their own special relationships with each other. Y/n and Normani's dad Derrick bonded over their love of sports, not too much though because Derrick has a strong love for the New Orleans Saints and Y/n is dedicated to her hometown Baltimore Ravens. Andrea, Normani's mom, had also grown fond of her daughter's lover. The two take pride in ganging upon Normani any chance they got. Not to mention, Andrea has been rooting for the two since Normani told her about Y/n after they met.

In addition to wanting to meet them in person, Y/n wanted to give Normani a boost in her happiness, especially after what transpired this morning. So she decided to invite them down for a few days as a surprise. She also invited Megan and Doja over later tonight for a game night and dinner. She was hoping this would further lift her lover's spirits.

In the meantime, she was determined to build a better sand castle than Normani after she was challenged.

"How's it going over there is Losertown babe?" Y/n teased.

"You won't be saying that when mine looks better than yours." Normani responded, chuckling.

"Well when MINE looks better than yours, I'll still love you."

"Of course you will, have you seen me today? Tuh." Normani shot back at her lover playfully. Unbeknownst to her, Y/n had been staring at her every so often all day today. She couldn't get enough of her if she was being honest.

"I have and you look gorgeous baby." Y/n smiles, blowing her a kiss. Normani catches it and pretends to stuff it into her bikini top. Y/n raises an eyebrow at her.

"For safe keeping." Normani defends, causing Y/n to burst into laughing.

"Of course it is." Y/n's phone rings. She checks it and sees that it's Andrea. "Hold on, it's Keith. Lemme take this." Normani nods.

"You're losing precious time on this castle. Yours is already looking kinda sad!" she fake pouts.

"Very funny babe. Be right back." Y/n walks out of earshot from Normani and answers. "Hey Mama Drea, everything okay?"

"Hey Y/n, everything is great! We just got to the house, we're gonna get settled in and then I'll start dinner. Want anything specific?"

"Classic soul food definitely. Fried chicken, greens, mac and cheese. The works, if it's not too much. We could always order out." Y/n offered, she didn't want to tire her out after she'd been traveling.

"Nonsense, It's no problem baby. I'll do anything for y'all. Megan and Amala still coming?" Y/n chuckled at Andrea calling Doja by her government name.

"Yes ma'am, they're gonna be there after we get back."

"Sounds great. I'll see you all soon. Get back to having fun sweetie."

"See you later." Y/n hung up the phone with a smile. She was glad her relationship with Normani's mom was developing well. It was important to her that her parents approved of her since she knew she wanted to marry their daughter one day.

She made her way back to the spot where her girlfriend was building and noticed she wasn't building anymore. "Why you stop building?" Y/n asked

"It's no fun when you're not here doing it too." she pouted.

"Such a baby." Y/n shook her head. She walked up to Normani and offered her a kiss.

"Yes but I'm your baby."
