5pm in Napa, 8pm in NYC

The Christmas season came fast over the next few weeks in Y/l/n household. Thanksgiving flew by with the help of Mama Drea's wonderful pies. Feeling jolly, Y/n even decided to share some with her lover when she asked.

In the spirit of Christmas, the Y/l/n's decorated their Napa Valley home for the first time as a married couple, a tradition they couldn't wait to continue every year. Even more so now that their family would be growing soon.

They did every corny Christmas activity imaginable. Baking cookies, wrapping presents for their family and friends, last minute shopping, and even binge watched a long list of Christmas movies. It really was the most wonderful time of the year.

Interestingly enough, Normani passed her due date of December 5th. In fact, it flew by so fast they forgot it was her original due date. Beyoncé and Y/n had scheduled a few events with Louis Vuitton as their newest ambassador for the following week that was supposed to take place in LA after the babies were born. This would be no problem if they hadn't moved the date back to days before Christmas and moved cities from LA to New York.

At this point, there was nothing Y/n could do. She could miss the events, but she'd be losing out on a million dollar brand deal that would take her career to the next level. Backing out of a deal this big, this close to the first few events would tank her career and make her look flaky or untrustworthy. Even Mani understood and was relieved that Y/n would only be gone for two days. They did what any other family would do and banded together.

Megan and Andrea came to stay with Normani for those two days. Derrick and Amala became the ladies personal errand runners for those two days since there was a threat of a considerable amount of snow. Derrick salted the driveway and roads, Amala ran back and forth to the store to get literally anything they asked for. She didn't mind though, she had gotten good at predicting what else they'd want based on their orders and picked it up on the way.

Y/n, on the other hand, was freezing her ass off in New York City. From red carpets, promo interviews, photo shoots, and trying local food spots her fans had recommended, her hands were full. She facetimed Normani as much as she could, especially during long rides to and from events.

"Hey babe, how was your interview?" Mani smiled sleepily at her lover. She had just woken up from a midday nap.

"It was fine. Would you believe they had the damn air conditioning on in there? It's 21° outside and they had on the air!" Y/n rolled her eyes in frustration. How hard could it be to turn on the heat?

"I'm sorry to hear that, you look bundled up though! That coat looks good on you."

"Thanks baby. Enough about me, I wanna hear about you. How are you feeling?"

"Babe I'm fine okay? Megan and my mom are taking great care of me."

"I know they are. What'd you do today?"

"You know how I've been watching those relationship reality shows?" Y/n nodded. "I just started one called 'The Ultimatum' so we'll see how that goes. Plus I've been catching up on Love Island."

"Don't watch the new season without me! You know how you like to spoil stuff while we watch it."

"No I don't!"
