Eight years had passed since the tragic loss of Jimin.
Time had done little to ease the pain, but Yoongi had found a way to keep his memory alive.
He found himself at Banpo Park near the Han River, a place that held a special significance in his heart.
As he entered the park, a group of excited children surrounded him, their faces lit up with delight as they recognized him.
Yoongi, ever the soft-hearted soul, smiled warmly and knelt down to their eye level.
"Hey there, little pals. How's life treating you today?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine care.
The children, bursting with enthusiasm, responded with a chorus of "Good!" and "Great!" Their joy was infectious, and Yoongi couldn't help but chuckle.
Yoongi carefully placed a cake and a beautifully framed photograph of Jimin on a nearby bench.
He glanced at the children with a knowing look and asked,
"You all remember what today is, right?"The children nodded eagerly, their eyes filled with anticipation.
One of them, a young boy, spoke up, "It's Jimin hyung's birthday, isn't it?"
"That's right," Yoongi said with a warm smile. "And we're here to celebrate it together, just like we do every year."
With great care, Yoongi positioned the cake in front of the framed photograph. He then placed a solitary candle on the cake and lit it with a flick of a match.
The children's voices filled the air as they joyfully sang "Happy Birthday."
Yoongi joined in, his voice laced with emotion as he whispered,
"Happy birthday to you, Jiminie," tears glistening in his eyes.
Once the song was over, Yoongi carefully cut the cake and distributed it among the children, who eagerly grabbed their slices.
Laughter and cake crumbs filled the air as they relished this special treat, a sweet tribute to their cherished friend, Jimin.
As Yoongi was about to pick up Jimin's photograph and leave, a little boy tugged at his shirt, stopping him in his tracks.
Yoongi furrowed his brows, his curiosity piqued.
He knelt down to the boy's height and asked, "What's on your mind, little buddy?"
The boy, his eyes shining with determination, extended a small plate with a piece of cake on it and urged Yoongi to take it.
Yoongi hesitated for a moment, touched by the gesture. He gently ruffled the boy's hair and said, "Thank you, but you should enjoy the cake. It's Jimin's birthday, after all."
The boy persisted, his pout reminiscent of Jimin's playfulness.
In a soft, imploring voice, he said, "Please, hyung."
Those two words, "Please, hyung," struck a chord deep within Yoongi's heart.
They were the same words Jimin used whenever he wanted something.
Yoongi couldn't help but smile through the tears that welled up in his eyes. He accepted the plate, the boy's earnestness warming his heart, and took a bite of the cake.
The cake was sweet, and each mouthful carried the taste of love and memories.
Yoongi savored it, relishing this small but significant moment with the children.
As he enjoyed the cake, the little boy, curious as ever, looked up at Yoongi and asked, "Hyung, why is your hair green?"
Yoongi's smile widened at the question, his mint-colored hair a tribute to Jimin's favorite shade.
