〖 Riddle's Flashback 〗
[Y/n] sat in the cozy corner of Riddle's room, her legs tucked under her, engrossed in a worn-out book about spells. The room was bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, casting shadows on the pages of the book as she eagerly devoured the enchanting words. Riddle had excused himself to use the bathroom, leaving her alone in the room. As she read, completely immersed in the magical world, a soft tap on the window caught her attention. Curiosity sparked within her, and she carefully placed the book down on her lap.
Opening the window, she was met with an unexpected sight. Two boys, slightly older than her, stood before her with a mixture of surprise and confusion written across their faces. [Y/n] furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, wondering who these boys were. "Um...who are you?" [Y/n] asked, her voice tinged with curiosity. The two boys exchanged glances before the taller one, with a friendly smile, spoke up. "Hey there! I'm Trey, and this is Che'nya. We were looking for Riddle. Didn't know he had a sister," he said, his voice holding a trace of surprise.
[Y/n] chuckled lightly, shaking her head as she leaned her elbows on the windowsill. "Well, surprise. I'm [Y/n]. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not his sister. What do you need him for? Are you his friends?" Trey looked taken aback for a moment before recovering with a sheepish smile. "Apologies for the assumption. We are his friends." Che'nya chimed in, "The best of friends!" [Y/n] giggled, covering her mouth with her hand. "Well, you must be pretty special if you're his best friends." Just as the conversation continued, Riddle hurried back into the living room, his expression turning from relief to panic as he spotted Trey and Che'nya standing by the window. "Oh no! [Y/n]! You can't tell Mom about this," he whispered frantically, his voice laced with worry.
[Y/n] turned to face Riddle, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Wait? Your mom doesn't know you have friends? Have you been sneaking out?" Riddle gazed down at the ground, his hands clutching the fabric of his pants, his cheeks suffused with remorse. "N-No..." he stammered as he avoided eye contact. "Oh, don't worry, Riddle. Your secret is safe with me," she reassured him, her eyes twinkling with softness like a gentle breeze on a summer night. "But why keep it a secret?" she asked, genuinely curious. Riddle hesitated for a moment before finally meeting her gaze. "It's complicated," he admitted, his voice filled with vulnerability.
Trey and Che'nya exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of the situation. Trey finally spoke up, breaking the silence. "Did we miss something here?" Riddle let out a nervous chuckle, gesturing between [Y/n] and him. "Apparently, I forgot to mention having a betrothed. Sorry for the confusion," Che'nya smirked, nudging Trey playfully. "Guess we stumbled upon a hidden secret. Nice to meet you, [Y/n]." [Y/n] laughed warmly, her eyes sparkling with newfound camaraderie. "Nice to meet you both, Trey and Che'nya. You've certainly made this book I'm reading a lot more interesting.
