〖 Leona's Flashback 〗
"From the moment I was born, there's been a boulder on top of me that's too heavy to move."
A young boy by the name of Leona silently walked down the magnificent hallway of his palace in the Sunset Savanna, the golden rays of the sun gracefully illuminating his path. Despite his young age, his expression was serious, mirroring the weighty thoughts that occupied his mind. His short, shaggy dark-brown hair cascaded over his forehead, occasionally falling into his hazel eyes, adding to the mysterious aura that surrounded him. A book was tucked under his arm, its worn pages indicating that it had been well-loved and frequently read. His short tail swayed gently behind him, a sign of his calm and collected demeanor.
As Leona strode purposefully forward, his footsteps barely making a sound on the polished marble floor, he suddenly froze mid-stride. His lion ears normally perked with alertness, fluttered slightly as he caught the sound of his father's voice, mingled with the low tones of his older brother, Falena, the crowned prince. Leona's curiosity piqued, and he couldn't help but eavesdrop on their conversation. He moved with caution towards the slightly ajar door, straining to catch snippets of their discussion. "Falena, I am delighted to see how well you have been handling your responsibilities as the crowned prince," their father's voice boomed with pride. "But remember, with great power comes great responsibility." Falena nodded enthusiastically, a toothy grin spreading across his face. "Thank you, Father," he replied earnestly. "I am committed to upholding our family's legacy and serving our kingdom with honor and integrity."
Leona's vivid frown deepened, his brows furrowing with an intensity that defied his youth. A mixture of emotions swirled within him, reflecting both disappointment and frustration. His small, nimble fingers clutched onto his book tightly, causing his sharp nails to dig into the cover. He felt an unspoken longing to prove himself, as if the weight of his father's words had suddenly become tangible, pressing against his chest. 'Why did Falena always get the praise?' he wondered, his mind filled with envy. A cloak of despair seemed to settle over him, as he couldn't help but compare himself to his older brother and feel inadequate in her shadow. The constant need to measure up to her achievements was suffocating, leaving him yearning for recognition of his own.
In that moment, Leona's face transformed into a mixture of determination and quiet determination. His lips pressed together in a thin line, showcasing his resolute spirit even at such a tender age. His eyes, normally filled with innocence and wonder, now encapsulated a rare glimpse of hidden drive and ambition. Just as Leona was lost in his thoughts, the sound of approaching footsteps snapped him back to reality. Panic washed over him, his heart pounding furiously within his chest as a surge of adrenaline coursed through his veins. Without a moment's hesitation, Leona swiftly turned on his heels and ran away from the scene, the book still clutched tightly under his arm. As he hurriedly retreated down the hallway, a sense of determination intermingled with a hint of melancholy appeared in his eyes. Though young and still finding his place in the grand tapestry of life, Leona's leap towards discovery and independence had begun, propelled by the unyielding desire to carve his own path, separate from the shadows cast by his older brother and the expectations placed upon him.
