Hi again...Oh gosh, that was absolutely terrible of me disappearing on the everyone like that. I truly apologize for that. It was a bit of a mental health leave.

I'll be transparent here; I can't offer up any guarantee it won't happen again, so if I may ask you all to continue to be patient with me, I would deeply appreciate it.

That being said, I really want to thank everybody once again for your interest in this story. For real, thank you so much.

"Hey, hey! (Y/n)!!! Yoohoo, over here!"

"There's no way-"

"Aww, how come?"

"Dazai, I am not sharing an umbrella with you."

Today was supposed to be your day off. Currently, on this unfortunate day, you're taking a stroll on Motomachi Shopping Street. By the honest work of the devil, on what was going to be your day off, you somehow find yourself shopping with this man child.

What really sucks though is that it's in the pouring rain.

"Oh come on~ I don't bite."

You shoot him a cold glare.

"That is NOT the issue here. I refuse to get under that umbrella."

"Such a stick in the mud as always." Dazai pouts dejectedly. However, he keeps walking forward as you trail behind him. You let out a sigh and cross your arms over yourself.

While you don't think he'd try to kill you right now, if he wanted to, he'd be in the perfect vicinity to do it. Yeah, no thank you. You'd rather not risk it.

You've gotta admit, you're a bit cold though. The rain itself is fine, but the fact that this stinking wind is howling at you is completely unideal. For goodness sake, it's like it's trying to blow you off the face of this planet.

If only the Port Mafia was an occupation that closed down in stormy weather. Heh. Better yet, if only it just closed down completely, right?

Oh, what you'd give for a warm bath right now. Maybe a warm meal to go with it...And let's not forget-

"(Y/n)~"

Gah.

"What now, Dazai?"

"Here."

Suddenly, something falls over your head. It's large and heavy, blocking your vision from anything else.

"What the heck-"

You rip off whatever Dazai chucked at you off your head. You glance over at him and see him looking at you. He looks a little different than usual.

Something's missing...OH.

You look down. In your hands, you've got his black coat. Stunned, you just stare at it for a bit. It's still retained the heat from when he was wearing his coat a moment ago.

"What's this for?"

Dazai sighs in response to your question. He briefly readjusts the position of his umbrella.

"What a stupid question (Y/n). I think it's pretty obvious if I do say so myself." He says, exasperated.

"Okay, but I guess what I'm asking is why???"

"Hm? I can't let my trusty assistant get sick, now can I? Who else am I supposed to bother to do all of my dirty work?"

You deadpan.

"Really. You've got nobody else to bug if I were out a day?"

"Nope!" ;)

"How about that Chuuya?"

Dazai contemplates for a moment.

"As much as I'd like that, he usually works under Koyo so that's often a no. Besides, you're just as interesting to me. Your reactions are just too amusing. Plus, you conveniently have to stick by my side anyway! A win-win for me whether it's you or him, don't you think?"

This man as usual...Just whyyyyyyy.

"Fine...Whatever."

You give up. Any reason you try to throw at him will very likely get a response that will be harder and hard we to fight.

"Good to know we're in agreement then!"

Dazai continues along, humming his favorite suicide song.

Before you follow him again, you take a moment and pull a sleeve of the coat over one arm. Then, you pull the second sleeve over the other. It still seems to have his scent mixed in with it.

Slowly, the coat is getting drenched in the rain with you, but admittedly, it's still really warm...

You'll accept it. Just this once.
