"Hey, Mori. About that thing you promised me."
"Dazai, I have no new suicide substance for you at this time."
"No, not that~You know what I mean."
The man resembling a Victorian vampire could only sigh at his subordinate's obstinacy. Though he ordered the young man around, he was always cautious of who was really under whose thumb at all times.
"Here, Dazai—The note regarding my research on (Y/n)'s blood."
Mori slid a small notepad across his mahogany desk. Dazai took it, inspecting the thing as if it were a plain-old dud.
"This is it? That's all you've got?"
Mori's face twisted in dissatisfaction, much like Dazai's current expression.
"Unfortunately so. The results were disappointingly lackluster."
Dazai looked at the tiny notepad before him. He flipped the page front and back, and that was it. That was all there was to it.
[On (Y/n)'s Blood]
Hypothesis
On being added into another human being of compatible blood type, (Y/n)'s blood will grant temporary, internal protection that emulates their invincibility gift.
Test Information
1. One vial of blood is to be tested raw, by dividing the subject's blood amongst several samples of other vials of normal blood, of the same blood type. Findings should be recorded.
2. A second vial of blood will be frozen at -3 degrees Celsius. Then, blunt force will be applied to the sample using a hammer to test for signs of damage. Findings should be recorded.
3. Repeat freezing process from previous directive. Then, penetrative force will be applied to the sample using a needle. Findings should be recorded.
Results and Interpretation
1. Blood coagulated on contact with compatible blood type for all specimens. [Note: Blood viscosity would have been too thick to circulate through human body.]
2. Specimen was successfully frozen. Blunt force applied to specimen resulted in no signs of damage. Frozen blood resistant to blunt force damage.
3. Specimen was successfully frozen. Penetrative force applied to specimen resulted in no signs of damage. Frozen blood resistant to penetrative damage.
Conclusion
Test 1 Success prerequisite to Success of Tests 2 and 3. Hypothesis therefore Rejected.
"I was hoping to manufacture a temporary invulnerability drug based on their Gifted ability. It seems though, that while their blood does indeed count as carrying their Gift, it's incompatible with any actual humans."
"Failing the first test rendered the second two useless, then." Dazai simplified.
"Quite. Finding the blood cells had taken no damage would've been an ecstatic find, if only (Y/n)'s blood hadn't hardened on contact with the outside blood cells. It'd be counterintuitive to go blocking off my people's veins with solid blood, after all."
"Something tells me there's more, though Mori. Where's the 'But, And' to this, eh?"
Mori smiles as he always does when his conversation partner is already ahead of him.
"Of course you'd think think that. Well, you're right." Mori states rather proudly. "I ran one extra test aside from these ones here. I'm still compiling my notes, but I can tell you this with certainty: (Y/n)'s blood would be more destructive than normal if paired with an incompatible blood type."
