I Love You Charlotte by Kris Bowers

Yvaine POV

A few months later.

I diligently reorganized my classroom, noticing that dust had accumulated during my absence. As a now visiting professor, my class was considered an elective rather than part of the main curriculum, granting me some flexibility to manage my responsibilities both on land and beneath the waves.

Headmistress Weasley and I had come to an agreement. Several Sirens would now make their home in the depths of the Black Lake. Josephine had been unwavering in her insistence on this arrangement, citing it as a means of safeguarding me, while also preserving the secrecy of my unique existence.

Meanwhile, just like us, Garreth and Poppy had reclaimed their original teaching roles within the school. As for Gabriel, he had returned to the Ministry to address the Gaunts and other criminal activities orchestrated by them and their loyal followers.

I gazed out of the window as the sun began its ascent, spilling warm sunlight into my classroom. From this vantage point, I had an exquisite view of the lake, a constant reminder of my home and newfound regal responsibilities. A smile of gratitude crept across my face as I reflected on the incredible events that had unfolded in my life.

As the sunlight streamed in, it touched my seashell necklace, causing the Magenite gem to glisten brilliantly. It felt as though Alaric was also in agreement with my contentment.

Much had transpired in the few months since my coronation. I thought about all those memories while reviewing my syllabus, each moment etching itself in my life.

The Ministry and the Realm were currently in discussions about the creation of a new division focused on Realm engagements and political connections. However, as for the idea of revealing ourselves to the rest of the wizarding world, I couldn't see that happening in the near future. If I had learned anything, it was that part of Morgana's warning was valid – humans were susceptible to greed, and the path to darkness was all too tempting.

Sirens would also undergo training alongside select Aurors to facilitate collaboration and bridge the societal gap between our worlds. This training would not only strengthen their ability to protect our realm but also prepare them for potential threats that could impact us.

Nevertheless, I wanted to ensure that my world was ready to face any challenges that might arise.

The Oracle had also delivered a prophecy regarding my reign, foreseeing an era of peace much like my mother's rule. While they did predict a possible future threat, they believed it would ultimately be in favor of those who championed the forces of light.

Their vision revealed that a young boy with the surname Potter, Harry Potter, would emerge as the savior in the face of this potential threat.

"I'm here to visit my father, Silas Gaunt," I announced to the Azkaban guard, the dread in my heart deepening as I sensed the presence of dementors nearby. Their soul-sucking aura seemed to seep into every corner of Azkaban, intensifying the oppressive atmosphere.

"Follow me," the guard instructed, his footsteps guiding me through the cold, echoing halls. As we ventured deeper, my sensitive ears picked up the haunting whispers of other prisoners, some of whom had descended into madness during their agonizing sentences. Some possibly my siblings. Marvolo was nowhere to be found but he never really joined in on their plans to begin with. Their tormented voices echoed off the stone walls, a chilling reminder of the despair that consumed this wretched place.
